1979 Volkswagen beetle convertible. In 1978 and 1979 the only VW beetles imported to the United States were the convertible which was Built by Karmann in West Germany. This Beetle has a fresh rebuilt motor that has over $2500 dollars in work and extras. It’s equipped with electronic ignition - no points to worry about. The motor is not original however it is nicely put together as you can see from the pictures & Video. The interior is nicely put together and has a custom power drivers seat to accommodate a very tall driver - it’s super comfortable too. The car is very solid - but it will need some cleaning up to be a very nice driving classic. The rear bumper is old and chrome is peeling a bit. The steering column has some play and will need inner bearing replaced soon. The very lower edge of both doors have some chipping- all of this can be seen in my pics and You Tube videos posted below. The bug starts right up and can be drivin but will need a carb adjustment and brakes adjusted before driving cross country!
