1979 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Additional Info:
Hello, you are looking at a really nice 1979 Volkswagen Convertible that was bought new in Georgia, went to Tenn. and then came to Florida 13 years ago. This car has been well taken care of, has all the receipts for work done. The interior looks great, no tares or rips in the seats or door panels, dash pad has no cracks, headliner in the top looks good. The original rubber mat on the floor does have some cracks and should be replaced but the floor mats cover it. All glass is very nice with no cracks, back window in the convertible top is glass not plastic! Air Condition was added when it was new, along with AM-FM radio, the belts are currently off of the unit, the prior owner told me that it worked but was low on Freon, so everything is there but should be gone thru, but it’s very rare to find AC in a Beetle, let alone a convertible!
The car was painted 3 years ago to the original black with base coat-clear coat and they did a great job with no runs or scratches, shines like new! Cost of $6000. Car was taken apart and painted correctly! A brand new Scat 1600 motor was installed with everything new, ($4950.00), carb, distributor, fuel tank, all done to top standard. Scat is one of the best VW motor builders out there, it has around 3500miles on it. The car sat for a year and a half and put fresh gas in it and it started right up, could use a quick tune up to make sure you would be ready, I just replaced the tires with new radials with white walls that make the car look great and stands out!, less than 100 miles on them! The car has always been from the south so there is no rust, floors look great as well as the body. This beetle drives great, no rattles and it’s tight.
This is a great car that you can enjoy driving, draws a crowd when you park it! The Beetles are going up in value, who doesn’t like them! I will try to make a video and will be glad to answer any questions that you may have, just ask and I will send you a phone number! Thank You, Mike
In the pictures it looks like the is a few scuffs in the paint, it is only shadows! There is no marks or dents! The paint has a great shine!
