I'm selling a coveted last-year VW Wolfsburg Cabriolet in Triple White. It has been an absolute joy to drive and own and it gets smiles, comments, and honks every time I drive it.
Low-miles examples of this model sell for $30-40k on popular auction websites.
It's in very good overall condition and can be used as a daily driver.
It has been garage-kept for at least 27 years, but probably it's entire life.
I bought it a few months ago from the long-time owner. I am the fifth owner.
Please see its clean history in the attached AutoCheck.
The engine runs well and starts every time. The steering is spot on, the brakes work well, the suspension is supple and stable.
The automatic transmission shifts through the gears swiftly.
The tires are very good.
It's more fun to drive as an automatic -- I've had three Cabriolets and it's far more fun to zip around in than using wrestling all four limbs in a manual version!
The interior is in near-excellent condition, although it could use a light wipe to really shine it up.
As a 33-year-old vehicle, it has some flaws:- Two spots of rust below the windshield. It looks worse than it is, most of what looks like rust is just staining on the paint.- Leaves a small drip of oil most nights. The engine has some oil around the underside, so at some point it could use some gasket updates.- AC is not working.- Three small tears in the top, but it's still watertight.- Broken passenger mirror.- Front left bumper strip fell off, but it's included.
It includes the original radio with the code, a Heidelberg VII or VIII, I forget which.
It includes the top boot.
This is a wonderful car that's fun to drive and that everyone loves.
It is also a sought-after Wolfsburg Edition in the coveted final year (for that trim) and color combination.
Cabriolets are increasing in value, and you can either make this one perfect, or just enjoy it right away!
It's not perfect, but it's probably the most popular car on the road and an excellent investment.
$16,500/make an offer. I'd list it auction-style, but there isn't an option for a reserve.
Please see my 100 percent feedback over 25 years for assurance.
I'll add more details as I remember.
