1986 Toyota Land Cruiser Fj60 Additional Info:
Awesome FJ60 with Chevy V8 power! This is the right FJ right now! needs only a bit more to finish. I purchased it from the previous owner in the spring. He did a v8 conversion to the truck earlier. It was running and wheeling fine. It sits on taller Chevy springs. The rear pumpkin is welded.Bringing it to California, he started to 'modernize' it to the current Vortec motor. Two kids and a third on the way slowed things down a changed priorities. This is my dream car, but my mechanical skills are a quite a bit lacking when it comes to custom work like this.Fortunately for the next owner, most of the fabrication is done. The motor is in. It comes with a plug-and-play wiring kit with the computer. Plumbing such as fuel, cooling and exhaust need to be connected.Cosmetically, this is one of the cleaner FJs I've seen. The body is straight except for a couple of easy to pop out dents. There is one dime size hole in the back top above the window. There is a very small amount of minor rust on the rain gutter. Underneath rust is near nonexistent--it's only a surface patine--this car has not been treated with any rustproofing or bedliner. The paint is a recent white paint over the original bronze. The white has held on nicely (there's no chipping where the old paint shows), but the clear coat has peeled away badly. It actually may be so poorly applied that peeling it the rest of the way may be fairly easy. The interior is clean. The carpet is out. Seat upholstery is clean and free of rips. the dash has a couple of cracks. The headliner is near perfect. Glass is good, but the windshield has a crack. The tires are holding air and good for wheeling. They're 35" on steel rims. This comes with a bunch of extra parts: front fox shocks and hoops, front fender liners, oil pan, radiator,Not having driven it myself, I can say it sits very nicely and square (not leaning.) The fellow I got it from was an adult, firefighter and the truck had been in his garage for a couple of years. Having bought and sold a few cars over the years, I got only positive vibes from him. That said, as I haven't driven it or gotten into it, I cannot make any estimates for what is needed. It'll be as-is. I am happy to accommodate a mechanical inspection. This truck could go the way of full restoration and all the bones are there for a great result. Or just finish the swap and have a cool off road FJ.Thanks for looking!
