1985 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 Additional Info:
For sale is a 1985 Toyota Landcruiser FJ60 (Land Cruiser) in great condition. It is a clean machine. Mechanically, this one is sound with only some relatively minor cosmetic issues. I have owned this vehicle since 2015. Never a mechanical issue. It starts every time, even in cold weather. Four wheel drive works great and as expected. The engine is the original 2F with a little over 169K miles on it. I was told by the Toyota dealer that changed the oil for me that it should hit 300k at least as it looks to have been regularly maintained throughout its life. It shifts smoothly into all gears. There is a minor oil leak that produces small drops on the ground but the oil level hasn't changed since the oil was changed last year. The tires are newer with lots of tread, the spare is brand new. The original jack and tool kit are present under the seat. Since I purchased the vehicle, I had the differential serviced, rear lock assembly replaced, belts replaced, oil changed and the side view mirrors replaced. The vehicle was repainted from the original dark brown to burnt orange prior by a previous owner. I did a thorough magnet test on the usual rust prone areas prior to purchase to see if the paint job was covering up bad rust and it passed with flying colors. The magnet stuck solidly everywhere. There are a few paint bubbles that haven't changed since I've owned this vehicle. This vehicle has been in CO it's whole life. The original upholstery has a few stains that could probably be removed but is rip free with the exception of the usual side tear on the drivers seat. It would be easy to fully restore this vehicle to factory condition if desired. Most of the issues that it has are minor and/or cosmetic.
Known issues are:
1. Interior dome light is not working and it needs a cover.
2. Dash has a few cracks.
3. Windows all work but I would recommend taking off the door panel and cleaning all the mechanisms.
4. Could use an alignment.
5. Clear coat is peeling on the hood.
6. The headlight washer reservoir is cracked so I don't know if it works.
This is a great vehicle but too big for me. It gets about 15mpg on the highway. In the end, it's not a perfect Cruiser but if it was I'd be asking a lot more than this.
