I love this truck and can't believe I'm selling it, but a 2nd child on the way means a 4Runner or Highlander makes more sense. This truck looks and drives awesome, turns heads, and generates thumbs up wherever it goes. I've been daily driving it since November. I bought it from a fellow FJ60 owner in Chicago and the carfax shows its earlier life in Florida, Georgia, and Colorado -- which leads to its rust-free body and frame, which is increasingly difficult to find in the Midwest. It has high miles, but these 2F engines run forever with proper maintenance.
It's a perfect car for a newer driver: super cool, but big and slow. They are basic trucks and I've had fun learning how to work on it with the help of a great online community: IH8MUD dot com
In last 2,000 miles (1 year -- my ownership, receipts included):
- New All-Terrain Tires (General Grabber 31.5 x 10.5 x 15)
- New Clutch pack and flywheel
- Facelift with OEM grille and reproduction original bumper with tow-hook
-I have a blacked-out grille and headlight surrounds with original TOYOTA emblem if interested
- New Pioneer Bluetooth stereo head unit w/ microphone
- New battery
- Replaced fuel filter and fuel pump
- New radiator hoses
- Cosmetics: OEM front seat cover replacement, new antenna, new shift knobs, window regulator, hubcaps, original tool set, new (OEM) washer fluid reservoir and wipers
In last 6,000 miles (3 years -- previous ownership, receipts included):
- Power Steering Pump
- Brakes
- Weber Carb rebuild
- Clutch cylinders
- A/C refresh
- Smog equipment removed
It functions great, but does have a few fixable issues that comes with being 31 years old. The interior dome lights and rear wiper do not work, dashboard has cracks (can be covered with pre-fabricated cap for about $100), paint shows its age.
