Selling my 1970 Mercury Cougar pro touring car. Car was built in 2018 and completed the long haul Hot Rod Power Tour as well as Hot Rod Drag Week in 2018. The car is set up to be a great grab the keys and go cruising or racing. Car is fully capable of autocross or drag racing. As well as a cross country road trip pro touring car. Many trips have been taken with this car. Car has the nickname Freddy. (Freddy Cougar) or (Freddy Mercury). I found the car on craigslist back in 2009, bought it to save from the crusher because I loved the patina and story of the car. It sat until 2016 and we did the initial teardown / chassis repair, motor mounts. We stripped the whole underside of the car to bare metal and coated it, same with the engine bay and floor of the car / trunk. Re-seam sealed all areas we felt needed it. Chassis is solid. Has rust of course but nothing to weaken the car. We never had the idea to restore it or paint. Just to make it solid enough to drive and race the hell out of it. Simple and nice was the idea behind this build, not fancy or flashy. All the work on the car was done by me and with the idea that my wife and kids ride in it, so the brakes, steering, suspension is always priority. If you have ever rode in the car you would understand, feels amazing. Racing and Dyno available. Listed below is the list of stuff that the buyer needs to know.
