The heavy lifting to restore this 1985 Jeep CJ7 to an enviable condition has been done - leaving it fresh and vibrant as can be both inside and out, and running like a top via a revitalized powerplant. All that remains is for you to bring it home and get the fun started right away! The CJ7 line holds the distinction of being the first of Jeep's offerings to feature refinements geared expressly toward making the... model more appealing and user friendly for everyday driving than its predecessors, but it still retains a ruggedly appealing presence. Put it side by side with its previous generation and you'll see that despite bearing a very strong resemblance, it's a noticeably larger vehicle - a full 10" longer at the wheelbase and substantially broader in track as well. That enlarged exterior is looking good here, cloaked in a coat of fresh red paint that shows no marked blemishes and a consistently smooth texture - a clay bar buff and a thorough waxing will have its shine back in top form in no time. An added lift kit affords this Jeep improved ground clearance while not going so overboard as to compromise its abilities in more common driving situations, and the contrasting off-road bumpers in both front and back not only elevate its already undeniable curb appeal, but also provide a nod to its action-oriented purpose. The included hard shell top is in good shape and seals nicely to provide a more sheltered driving environment when needed. Plenty of work went into bringing out the best in the interior and it shows. The black vinyl buckets up front and the bench seat in back are nice and comfortable and wear vinyl covers that show no tears - an especially welcome find with UV-sensitive black upholstery on board a vehicle that generally spends quite a bit of time in open air configuration. The floor, like the other surfaces inside the cockpit, wears what appears to be freshly applied paint color-matched to the exterior. For a more finished look, a full carpet set is also included with the car. The factory steering wheel still sits on the column and the dash area just beyond it is in top form, with a recently replaced pad running across the top and a set of clear, functional factory gauges recessed into the steel dash. At its center, there's a vacancy standing by to accommodate your chosen sound system. The 4.2 liter inline 6 beneath the hood was rebuilt only 1500 miles ago, so it's just now emerging from the "break in" stage. Fed by a factory-issue 2-barrel carb, it eagerly propels this Jeep past obstacles in its path, offering a little more muscle and better all-weather dependability than when in stock configuration by virtue of the added electronic ignition. The engine teams with a 4-speed manual transmission that's shifting smoothly and when conditions call for it, 4-wheel drive agility is unleashed easily with just a quick pull on the lever perched on the transmission tunnel inside the cockpit. The featured power brakes position discs up front to bring this CJ7's set of 15" ultra-sharp black steel wheels wrapped with 33x12.5LT15 tires to fast stops that are made all the more prompt by the addition of a new brake booster and master cylinder. A look below reveals a solid undercarriage that's well-positioned for plenty more miles of spirited motoring. Having been returned to top form both inside and out, as well as beneath the hood, this 1985 Jeep CJ7 is ready to escort its next owner on new chapters of adventure. Call today!
