1983 Jeep CJ Additional Info:
It was the first of the Jeeps specifically modified to bring the no-nonsense appearance and off-road agility of military vehicles to the general public and this 1983 Jeep CJ7 captures the model in ultra-sharp and visually authentic '80s form. This strong-running specimen will pull into its next owner's garage with its original window sticker on board to provide some historical perspective, as well as a collection of maintenance records and receipts to document the care it's received.
Clad in a tastefully colorful exterior, this CJ7 is sure to bring back plenty of memories. Its bright red paint looks fresh, with plenty of shine and a nice, smooth texture and it wears an assortment of nostalgia inducing graphics, including Renegade lettering down the sides of its hood that has an almost 3-D effect, as well as denim-textured stripes along its rocker panels. The solid running condition of this Jeep make it well-suited for frequent driving and when you encounter less forgiving weather, the included canvas top and side doors will no doubt come in handy - both are in very clean shape. The beefy front bumper stands guard against any obstacle that might lie ahead, while metal cages protect the taillights from any road-bound debris that might kick up during your off-roading exploits.
The interior has been thoroughly refreshed and features a pair of aftermarket black vinyl bucket seats with plenty of miles still left on them. Between them is a clean center console offering lockable storage space - an especially useful feature in a Jeep, considering they tend to spend so much time in open air configuration. Judging from the ultra-fresh appearance of the dash pad spanning the width of the cabin, it was recently installed and the collection of factory gauges at the center of the dash are all easily readable behind their clear lenses. An AM/FM/Cassette stereo is also on board to provide an era-appropriate soundtrack as you embark on your adventures. There's some welcome storage space just behind the rear bench seat and, as you lower the liftgate, you'll notice this area is looking very solid, with no marked scuffs on the black protectant lining the floor.
The 258 cubic inch inline 6 standing by underneath that ornate hood was rebuilt not long ago and in the process a new carburetor was installed, so this engine is well positioned for plenty more service. It starts up easily and pairs with a 5-speed manual transmission that extracts maximum performance from its output. 4-wheel drive agility is easily activated in this cockpit - its lever sits within easy reach of the driver, almost side by side with the transmission gearshift. In keeping with Jeep's intention to arm the model with good road manners on asphalt and more rugged terrain alike, the featured power steering makes for easy navigation, while power brakes that place discs up front provide low-effort, fade-resistant stopping ability. This sharp looking classic rides on a set of 15" stock wheels outfitted with Maxxis Bighorn 31/10.5/15 tires that appear to have plenty of tread left.
Combining plenty of vintage aesthetic appeal with a rock-solid running condition, this 1983 Jeep CJ7 arrives just in time to take full advantage of this warmer weather and the call of both the open road and more rugged terrain. Call today!
