As we all know 1968 was a banner year for the Ford Mustang.

A good deal of enthusiast argue that it was the best and final “true pony car”.

This beautiful vintage convertible helps give some credence to their argument & backs up their assertions!

The 1968 Mustang that you see pictured here is a Ford Fan Favorite!

It is my pleasure to present this wonderful investment grade vehicle to the next potential lucky owner & the Ebay community abroad.

Over the next few moments I will attempt to give a brief description regarding the cars history, condition & drivability.

This incredible Ford was purchased in the spring of 1968 by a doctor from Omaha Nebraska.

By all accounts he had fallen in love with the Mustang brand since its inception but had never acted on his impulse to purchase.

That all changed the day that he walked into Baxter Ford South located on 145th street.

His son still recounts how his dad looked at several Mustangs on the lot that day but decided that the little Flame Red convertible tucked away in the corner was the one for him (most would agree that it was the best choice)!

I was fortunate enough to find out that this family owned pampered vehicle was possibly going to be put up for sale by a good friend.

As it turned out he happened to know the insurance salesman who ironically provided coverage for the family.

After following up on the lead I found out that the original owner still indeed had the car that he had enjoyed for over thirty five years!

However shortly after retirement he placed it in storage. The Mustang was really used on a limited basis through his last few years of ownership.

That fact & the desire to give his grandson a new car for high school graduation sadly prompted him to sell the Mustang.

There was a bright spot for him several years earlier when he rekindled his love for the car in hopes of taking it on a road trip with his wife to Florida.

Once the decision was made he decided to restore it.

One of the first things that he was inspired to do was to have the original (T- Code Red) exterior brought back to its original days of glory.

He appointed T & M Automotive Restorations to complete this task. The company had earned a reputation for being a premier leader in high end restorations for over 40 years.

After coming to terms with the shop owner they agreed to do the work. Since the vehicle had never been involved in a collision of any sort minimal body work was needed.

I loved hearing the families story of how anxious he was to get it back. The painting process alone took over five weeks to be completed. That being said it only it only takes a millisecond to appreciate the cars exterior (well worth the wait)!

The paint on the car is almost blinding in direct sunlight! The base coat clear coat method was used to administer the paint to the body panels so the exterior is smooth to the touch!

Let me say at this point “you can’t take the car a city block” without getting the “ole thumbs up”! It is also nearly impossible to cruise her for long without receiving compliments from random strangers! If you aren’t a people person this may not be the car for you!

The Candy Apple Red exterior looks incredible & presents itself very well! Since the car had near perfect virgin body panels the exteriors foundation is very sound, uniform and has great contour!

The body gaps & lines are also in step with factory manufacturing specifications.

From every angle this Mustang looks wonderful!

You will be hard pressed to find a Mustang that has been protected and cared for the way this one has.

After the company was finished with the paint work they were instructed to replace all of the appointed chrome & stainless.

That of course was in accordance with the owners demands so you can expect to find superior M.C.A approved pieces installed from bumper to bumper!

Some of the chrome / stainless moldings were simply refurbished to keep the car original where it counted!

The hallmark signature corral horse is in excellent shape & so are all of the other grill assembly components!

This Mustang has new front & rear bumpers along with updated bumper bolts & brackets!

Displaying pony pride is a breeze when onlookers are focusing on the shiny new Mustang gas cap located on the rear of the car!

Reminding folks of the good ole days on route 66 is also a cinch, thanks in part to a pristine classic chrome Mustang mirror!

The fender script is in stellar condition and the Ford licensed Mustang trunk letters are new!

The factory side markers & other bezels have stood the test of time!

The quality and condition of this car is truly remarkable and above reproach.

Again this is a limited ownership vintage vehicle that has been garaged and cared for since day one!

Many of the intricate details that are typically ignored by hobbyist when restoring classic cars were given special attention to on this car.

This beauty has a spank brand new Dutch White quality power top installed that lowers with ease!

The manufacturer of the canvas is TMI ….they are a proven supplier that has been producing high end tops for many years.

The restoration shop went above the call of duty when undertaking the task of replacing it! They even serviced the convertible top pump, lines & hoses.

Dropping this top with confidence is no problem at all!

Many owners and collectors tend to neglect the fact that these components need to be replaced if they are original to the car. Failure to address the needed preventative maintenance / service on the previously mentioned parts results in frustration and very expensive repairs!

No worries here …. all of the hard work has been done for you she’s ready for years of trouble free enjoyment!

This beautiful Mustang also received new top pads, tacking stripes and rear window! You will find yourself longing for 70 degree days!!!

Although this is a car for all seasons!

This Mustang also has good glass throughout the entire vehicle! Not one piece is cracked or damaged!

Now that we have talked about this phenomenal Mustangs exterior lets discuss what she has to offer inside.

Upon opening the door of this 68 you will find a very inviting interior!

The interiors contrast against the red exterior is simply breathtaking!

The soft Palominowhite upholstery throughout this Mustang is in excellent condition!

The seat covers were recently replaced (approximately three months after the exterior restoration). The covers are absolutely stunning (front & rear).

When the interior restoration was underway the shop also restored the factory Ford sanctioned standard door panels! New Mustang hardware was attached to ensure stability “looks terrific”! The cockpit area of this vehicle takes you back to a time when cars were created with character!

The dash pad is in excellent shape & all of the gauges are functioning properly (rare)!

The remainder of the interior was restored ala cart over the next year. The owner made sure that only the best material was used to complete the job.

You will be hard pressed to find a classic Mustang that has a more user friendly & comfortable interior than this one has!

No stone was left unturned to make sure that this cars interior was ready for prime time!

Under your feet you will find excellent carpet from front to rear! The carpet is comprised of a high grade durable material that was built to handle harsh weather (with sound deadening material)! Also joining in the fight to help protect this Mustang from the elements is a stellar set of custom Flame Red Running Pony Floor mats!

Taking it out of the garage for any excursion is a treat!

There was a great effort made to make sure this Mustang had a modern feel to it while simultaneously maintaining its original appearance (supporting cushions, lumbar padding, etc).

You will notice a definite difference from the moment you sit inside!

The inner quarter trim and rear surrounding upholstery also looks great!

Right front and center for your driving pleasure is a wonderfully restored factory Ford steering wheel for you to grip!

The horn pad has survived through the years! There’s also a center pony embossed icon that rest in the middle of the wheel to always remind you and others of who started it all!

The interior lights are still shining bright & so are the dash lights.

Before exiting the car you will find a set of wonderfully adorned sill plates at ground level “like new”!

Again this Mustang has it all! It is a perfect car for the individual who has been waiting to get into the game for the first time or a great piece to add to your collection!

Now that I have given several reasons why you should love this Ford…… Let’s talk about yet why a few Chevy guys hate it!

No Mustang can truly be considered a muscle car without having a factory V/8!

The heart and soul of this horse is its STOUT factory 289 engine. The factory engine block was rebuilt in 2012! There has been less than 3500 miles put on it since the rebuild.

This motor was treated to top of the line parts before she was released back to the owner.

Horse power & Torque are optimal! Mustang Muscle located in Malvern PA provided the internals. These parts consist of Motor Craft Cam bearings, machined rods, hypereutectic pistons, machined performance valve springs & Zanetol rocker arms!

The original intake received new gaskets and there was also a new carburetor installed.

Finally this block received hardened valve seats to burn modern unleaded fuel! Most vehicles built in the 1960’s era were forced to be ran using leaded gas! However the fuel provided today consist of unleaded gasoline. Unfortunately most of the classic cars today have not had this very important piece of equipment added! There are many costly repairs that will arise because of it (including massive horsepower loss)! No worries here…..this stallion is up to date & very reliable!

SHE’S DEPENDABLE AND A STRONG RUNNER!!!!

This V/8 motor has plenty of giddy up and accelerates with ease! She’s ready for the open road!

This pony will give you a performance kick on command! The muscle car theme is played out each and every time you decide to mash the throttle!

Although the car can be considered a cruiser there’s plenty of power on tap!

It turns over with just a flick of the key at the slightest touch “truly a thrilling ride”!

LET’S LISTEN TO HER RUMBLE!!!

The oncoming crowd will not only see you coming they will hear you!

This classic Ford Mustang has an awesome chambered exhaust system!

The performance mufflers have just the right tone (not obnoxious)!

The experience that you will have driving it is a pleasurable one. You’ll never want to return to the garage!

It can be cruised without issue for hours at a time “very dependable”!

There is also a brand new radiator installed that helps keep it cool under the hood!

Preventative maintenance has not been overlooked either.

The car has recently had new plugs, wires, thermostat, fuel pump, battery, hoses, belts, starter and just too much more too list!!!

One of my favorite attributes about this car is the picture perfect almost pedestrian engine bay!

This Ford still has all of the water mark decals in place that were sanctioned by Ford (looks amazing)!

You will have no problem holding your head high at the local car shows!

It’s had the brake system totally gone through (clean bill of health) as well.

Here you have the total package. A reliable classic Ford Mustang that sounds, drives & looks amazing!

To top things off there is an excellent set flawless 17 inch Torque Thrust style Rally wheels installed on this Ford!!! This Classic pony “stops traffic”!

Guys driving all the modern muscle cars today can’t help but point & give you thumbs up when you’re on the road (no expense spared)!

There’s also has a set of brand new Sumo Performance radials at all four corners! The tires don’t have 50 miles on them so it is ready for years on trouble free performance!
