Sorry, the motor is a Dynaflash straight eight engine, 3 speed manual column shift transmission, leather upholstery, dual side mounts, rear seat. I'd rate the body and paintwork a 7 out of 10. This vehicle can be driven home. Thank you!

People have asked me to add some more description, so here it is:
This very rare 1940 Buick 4 Door Convertible (Model 41-C) is offered for your consideration.
The 1940 Buick Model 41C, 4-door Special Convertible Sedan, 8 Cylinder, 121 Wheelbase side mounts with covers, runs good, starts right up. It is a car you can use and keep improving, parts are readily available. This Buick is very Original inside and out and it's in great condition for its age. If I had the money, I'd eventually repaint this classic.
This is a very rare car with a very low production. As you can see the last few pictures, all the glass are all here and they roll up nicely. Only 552 convertibles were ever produced in 1940. Less than 60 thought to be in WORLDWIDE existence today! You can do your own research.
The car appears to be an older restoration that still presents well and runs perfectly. The car may certainly driven and enjoyed as it is, or it could be re-finished if one desired to show the car competitively. Mechanically and structurally the car is in excellent condition. It starts, runs, and drives with no issues at all even after long periods of storage.
One of the unique features of the Phaeton is the removable "B" pillar. With the top down and the "B" pillar removed, it became a completely open-air car, (see photos). With the top up and the "B" pillar installed, it took on the characteristics of a fully closed car. (see photos)
This is a beautiful example of an elegant touring car and is an extremely rare Model C-1. The Phaeton model was no longer made after 1941. The combination of a maroon finish with the red leather interior and red carpets is stunning. It drives very well with no smoke and does not use up oil at all. Extras include an extra tire in the trunk and rare original literature, tags, booklets and large dealer book in full color showing this model and the 1940 lineup. It also has two, 1940 "World Fair," license plate toppers! Please note that the convertible top is manual not electric.
This is a gorgeous convertible that I hate to sell. I'm retiring from the Air Force and we are movingand need the money for our retirement home.
This 1940 Buick Series C-1 has a 320 C.I. Inline 8 Cylinder w/ Stromberg Downdraft Carburetor, 3 Speed Manual Transmission, 10 Bolt Rear w/ Torque Tube, 15" Body Colored Steel Wheels w/ Buick Center Caps, Wide White Wall Tires, Dual Mirrors, Spot Light, AM Radio,( Not working)Clock (Not wired in), Dual Side Mounts, Shifter Mounted Turn Signal, Carpeted Trunk, Vacuum Wipers, Very Rare, 4 Door Buick Phaeton That Would Be a Welcome Addition to Any Collection!
It's abeautiful example of Pre-WWII American automotive luxury. This Buick Convertible is the top of the line for the 1940 model year. The convertible top, dual side-mounts and amber fog lights all add to the charm and class of this vehicle. Humphrey Bogart owned one similar to this, which was featured in the movie "Casablanca." I've included a picture of his in the photos.
I have driven this car myself and can personally attest to the condition. It is a very comfortable and powerful car even by modern standards. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. It starts easily, runs smoothly, and the transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears. Mechanically everything appears sound. I have had the best local mechanic go through the vehicle and fine-tune it and check out all components.
PRICED TO SELL !!! These cars usually sell for between $49k and $69K. Look them up in Hemming Motor News! YOU CAN PURCHASE THIS ONE FOR FAR LESS, ABOUT HALF PRICE!A good candidate to flip later, if you desire.
