This is truly one of the finest and most original 428 Cobra Jets available in the world.
It was the 13th of July 1968 when Mr. Higgings - 21 year old - from Jackson/Michigan signed a contract for this 1968 1/2 428 CJ Fastback. The dealer, Courtesy Auto Sales, received a 1965 Ford Mustang and 2668, 32 Dollar in exchange for the new Mustang.
After couple of years with his 428 CJ on the road Mr. Higgins decided to sell his Cobra Jet. In the dealers garage, responsible to service the Mustang, an enthusiastic Ford-Fan, Mr. Phelps, was very interested in this Mustang. He bought it from Mr. Higgins and enjoyed the 428 for many years, which can be proved by many existing invoices. The new owner also had a Boss 302 and many full-size Fords in his garage. No service was missing. Even so the Mustang was very reliable, Mr. Phelps sold his Pony by the end of the eighties.
The new owner was Mr. Vail, whose intention was to restore the Mustang to his original condition of delivery in the year 1968. In time for the big 35 years Mustang celebration in Charlotte in the year 1999 the restoration of the Cobra Jet was completed. From now on the 428 Fastback was driven mostly on trailers to shows all over the country. This is why he had only 3000 Miles on the speedometer, before Mr. Reiny van Uden bought this Mustang and shipped it over the sea to the Netherlands. The president of the Mustang Club with over 800 members recognized this Cobra Jet as the perfect completion to his Mustang collection. In the year 2016 the Fastback was bartered for a Shelby 350 and the Mustang ended in my collection. In my hands the Mustang was technically overhauled, so that the 428 Cobra Jet is a daily driver again and also is moved on a regular basis.
Currently the car is in Germany and will be shipping to your location. The car will have an US Title.
