This Jeep has been in the same family for 45 years, and originally came off of Fort Carson military base in Colorado Springs, CO. The Jeep was always stored inside. It was traded in at our dealership for a side by side vehicle and it could be yours next! It is in great running condition, and starts, runs and drives very well. There are a few spots under it where a seal is a bit wet, but no puddles when you park it. This was described to us as "mostly all original" which is apparently very desirable. The seller also had a spare wiring harness and cold weather cover for the front grill which are included. The grill cover has some damage from rodents.
The M38A1 is a 1/4 ton 4x4 made by Willy's motors and was used by the US Military from 1952 to 1971.This 1953 Jeep is known for the introduction of the first generations rounded fenders. Its a 2 door SUV with a Borg Warner 3 speed manual transmission. Its powered by the Hurricane F-Head 134 cubic inline 4 cylinder and built with a stronger frame & suspension rather than its civilian counter parts. It has a 24 volt electrical system, water proof inlet lightin, and a tailgate less rear body. Its one of the most sought after Military Jeep collectors items out there.
