Classic Car Addict is excited to present Time Traveler the all-steel custom rat rod 1961 Willys Jeep Station Wagon for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. You won't find ANYTHING like this! The Willy's Jeep Station Wagon were produced by Willys and Kaiser Jeep in the US from 1946-1964. They were the first mass-market all-steel station wagons and designed and built as a passenger vehicle. The steel body was efficient to mass-produce, easier to maintain and safer than the real wood-bodied station wagon versions at the time. This has a fully custom interior. The vehicle was completely gutted and redone. The doors feature some unique Nautical inserts with custom door handles made from gear sprockets. The windows are plexiglass and are all removable. The steering wheel is also custom made from a flywheel and flex plate. It features two custom shifters; a wrench operates the hood louver while the other wrench operates the transmission. Just in front of the shifters are a mounted compass. Gas and brake pedals are custom-made quick-change gears that were cut in half. The dash was fully redone as well and features the original instrument gauge. The odometer shows 83,116 miles (not actual) and has additional smaller gauges inside for amp, temp, oil, and fuel. Above and below the dash are welded bike chains that run to each side of the dash. The seats were also custom made to look like an old restraint bed from an Asylum, finished in brown that have jack supports behind them that are adjustable. In the rear on the upper deck above the gas tank, there is a levitating rear light bulb display. And the floors were made to look like wood plank from a ship. Obviously, you've probably never seen another Willys like this. The consignor had a specific look he was going for when he built this. He wanted something that no one else had. We think he nailed it! The exterior has a full custom paint that consists of black and finished with brushed bronze. The copper that runs from the rear, top, and front are welded in and fully operates the air ride system. The exterior door handles are painted bronze and fully operate. Up top, we have a fully open roof panel that has a removable canvas top (they just button in). Lastly, there is an anemometer atop that measures how fast the vehicle is going and is relayed to the driver inside by a fixed speedometer. Upgraded front LED lights and the rear has LED bar running lights. Jumping up front to the engine, we have a Chevy 350 5.7L V8 (3970010) mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. It has a custom painted air cleaner that was taken from a Cadillac and sits on top of the Brawler double pumper. It has a Victor Jr Edelbrock intake manifold that provides maximum performance for the engine. Additional features include dual side exit headers that are wrapped with heat shield, fuel PSI gauge, and a coolant reserve tank. It has QA1 shocks, full airbag system for front and rear and red Speedway brake calipers. The Willys rolls on Fuel Gripper M/T tires with 33x12.50R18LT up front and 40x15.50R24LT's on the rear and custom bronze rims from Black Rhino Raze.
