Unrestored, as-found condition, wonderfully original and intact 1961 Willys Overland Station Wagon: 32,148 miles, four-wheel-drive, Continental Super Hurricane 6-226 L-Head 6-cylinde, Superwinch, factory paint and original interior in decent / average condition, solid frame and running gear.
Recent go-over by esteemed Specialty-Vehicle Counselor Alan Gordius, who said “It’s running fine. The frame is good, so are the floorboards. Fun to drive.” There are some minor rust bubbles on the rear quarter panels and tailgate, but overall paint retains some gloss. The original front bumper is in the wayback if a complete original restoration is contemplated.
History: This is an estate sale. The former owner purchased this fine vehicle in northern Maine in 2011, and used it only sparingly. No other known history.
Ideal candidate for complete and authentic restoration. Or just drive a fun, solid old-timey good-looking piece of automotive history! Surf boards and the beach? Hill climb? Car shows?Skiis on the roof? Pick up the weekend guests at the train station?
Certainly drivable for a reasonable local distance, but shipping long-distance is probably the way to go. Or a nice road trip home?
