1961 Willys Jeep Station Wagon
I am selling this for a dealer friend. The owner of the Jeep consigned it to my friend's dealership to sell for him.
The Gentleman who owns this Jeep is a decorated, twice wounded, Vietnam War Veteran. His health has forced the sale. He doesn't want to sell, but it is time to let a new owner enjoy it as he has.
He had it restored about 6 years ago. These units came with a grossly under powered 4 cylinder. The driveability was greatly improved to this unit with the edition of a Ford 302 small block V8. Yes the same bullet proof motor they put in everything from Mustangs to trucks. It makes this unit more usable from off road to highway.
It carries a 3 speed on the floor standard transmission with OVERDRIVE! The 4x4 has lock in-out hubs.
THE BODY, PAINT, CHROME and INTERIOR are SHOW QUALITY!!!
The motor could use some detailing. The exhaust manifolds could use a spray of exhaust paint. The undercarriage needs a spray off. It has been undercoated. All old engines leak something. I see some oil leaking from the valve covers.
Have you seen the price of these old SUV'S at the collector car auctions lately? $40-50 & 60 grand and going up!
