Sad to let this beauty go but its time to move on to the next car!
For consideration is my 1973 Volvo P1800ES 2 door "Shooting Brake" station wagon.
Photos are of actual car, taken while we had it in the shop!
History: The P1800, on the market for 10 years now as a 2 door coupe, gained massive popularity as a sporty and extremely reliable car that was visually pleasing. In 1972 Volvo introduced the ES version as a wagon so to gain traction in the utility and wagon market. The car carried the same most excellent look as the P1800 couple, same rock solid mechanicals and same sporty feel, but gave the car more passenger and cargo room. The P1800 is known for its longevity with an example still on the road surpassing 3 million miles in September 2013.
This 1973 Volvo P1800 ES offered is a highly original example with just 102500 miles on the odometer. The car has received one repaint in its original Ocean Blue Metallic. The car runs perfectly and has been maintained with regular services. It's powered by its B20F fuel injected engine, 4 speed manual transmission with overdrive and rear wheel drive. The car features a very tidy interior, featuring an excellent dash, seats and carpeting (Not pictured are the custom CocoMats). Other highlights original working gauges, original trim and bumpers, original glass, upgraded wheels, Kenwood sound system, and excellent mechanicals. This is California car and has had 3 owners prior to my purchase. It's a proven driver.
The Volvo P1800 ES has recently fallen in favor of car enthusiasts around the globe. Known as the Adventurer, their reliability, design and utility make them easy cars to own, drive and enjoy. The ES was only available for two years and for this reason, the cars remain quite rare and quality examples are few and far between. It is no secret that the vintage European car market is on fire and the Volvo P1800 ES wagons are rapidly increasing in value with values surpassing 40,000 dollars plus. A tidy example as the car offered here is sure to bring enjoyment and investment at the price offered here
