1973 Volvo P1800ES Additional Info:
1973 Volvo 1800ES "Shooting Brake". Here is your opportunity to own one of these low production Volvos only made in 1972-73. These are quickly rising in value and this one is up for auction with NO RESERVE.
This is a 4spd car and with only 59k miles on odometer. It had been owned by the same person for nearly 20 years before I bought it. With a little work this car could be a great "driver" or is a perfect candidate for a full restoration. I bought this with plans of getting back on the street as a "driver" and enjoying mostly as it is, but have since realized that I do not have time right now to even do the few things required to get it back on the road.
She was running and driving a year ago when the fuel pump and hose came loose. I have a replacement but have not had time to put it on. I have gotten her to fire and start on starting fluid and have not done anything further. The only thing she needs to be a driver is a battery, install thefuel pump, clean the fuel system, and check the brakes.
The body overall is fairly straight. A mild (though not perfect) restoration was done about 6yrs ago by the previous owner where the car got replacement panels on rear, pans, and rockers. At that same time it was resprayed it's original orange color (including some of the suspension and fender wells at no additional charge). This car looks good at 5ft and downright awesome at 25ft. It does have several areas of small rust bubbles appearing in various areas on the car and the doors have some rust starting show. The inside of the rear hatch also has some rust that should be addressed. the floor pans are solid along the fender wells and rockers. I do have the trim that is missing on the passenger side. Also, the driver's door handle will need some attention - it onlyfunctions from the inside.
The interior does show its age but is all original. The dash is cracked and the the leather front seats are ready to be recovered. The back seat is in goodcondition. The carpet was removed by the previous owner but I have a lightly used additional set ready to be installed.
