1979 Volvo 242 Base Sedan 2-Door Additional Info:
Fairly rare 242 coupe in great shape. The most desirable of the 200 series (the 2-door “flathood”). The car was a lifetime California car until very recently. It was owned and maintained by the owner of a European car repair shop in San Fran for 20 years. It was always under cover, so it very rust free with nice paint and interior. Runs and drives very well. All gauges, lights, odo, clock, A/C, etc still work as intended. Great tires and has all of the original hubcaps and trim rings.Interior is a rarely seen red, which is original. All seats have been reupholstered in a quality Audi cloth. Pop out rear windows. New Kenwood deck and speakers with Iphone connection.Completely stock 2.1 with Bosch Kjet fuel injection and automatic trans, power steering and brakes. Car has 176k miles, however the engine was rebuilt about 50k miles ago. The car comes with 20 years of repair & maintenance receipts, including the engine rebuild. It’s obvious this car has never been through the unfortunate chain of teenagers and college kids like so many of these Volvos have.I originally bought the car for a V8 swap project. But after spending time with it, I decided it’s too nice and original to tear it apart.
I will post more pics soon (if it ever stops raining), or can take more on request.
