1977 Volvo 240 Additional Info:
Great car, ots of new things. Manual steering, /C, nd sunroof. Mechanically, he car is great. This is my daily driver, o a lot of work has gone into getting it right. Here are some things I have replaced:
Suspension & Brakes:
*Front lower control arm bushings
*Front ball joints
*Front and rear springs, hocks, nserts, nd plates
*Front and rear brakes and wheel bearings
Driveability & Engine:
*Clean all K-Jet components including distributor, PR, njectors
*Replaced K-Jet line and injector o-rings
*Replaced numerous valve cover gaskets and cam seals
*Replaced oil pump pick-up tube o-rings and oil pan gasket
*Water pump, iming belt, nd hoses (01/16)
*In-Tank fuel pump, ose, nd screen
Transmission & Driveline
*Replaced center support bearing
*Replaced transmission with later style M46 and Sachs clutch kit (12/15)
*240 Turbo exhaust
That is all the major stuff. The A/C does not work right now. I took a working York compressor off of my '83 and still need to make some lines. I have never fiddled with it so I don't know what else leaks. Some things that will need addressing is an electrical issue when the car sits in the heat for a little while. After the car gets warm from sitting, he starter does not work. No sound. If I leave the key in the ON position and jump the starter from the starter tester port, t works just fine; the car will crank and start. I am tempted to condemn it as an ignition switch, ut am not 100% on that.
