1971 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible, Autostick
This Super Beetle was garaged for the past 30 years by my father. After he passed away I inherited the car, and in September 2025 I had it brought back to life. All service was done by West Coast VW (WCVW Foreign Auto Repair) in Long Beach. It has been driven just over 100 miles since the work was completed and has been kept in my garage ever since. It runs perfectly.
Recent work, September to October 2025 (receipts available on request):
- New 1600cc dual-port long block for the Autostick (JCS Volks Master), installed by WCVW
- New gas tank, fuel system flushed, new fuel hoses and fuel filter
- Brakes: new master cylinder, four wheel cylinders, brake shoes, four brake hoses, and brake fluid
- New front struts and rear shocks
- New tires, mounted and balanced
- New battery, spark plugs, points and condenser, and ATF
Body, top and interior:
- From what I can tell, all body panels are original
- Paint is over 20 years old and shows chips and wear
- Convertible top, all upholstery (seats and door panels), and headliner were replaced by my father over 20 years ago. I do not know which shop did the work
- Whitewall tires with chrome hubcaps
Condition notes:
- Front trunk and glove box interiors show their age and will need some attention
- Odometer is five digits and shows 10,638; true mileage is unknown
Title and registration:
- Built April 1971 (per the door jamb sticker); VIN matches on the dash plate and the door jamb sticker
- Clean California title in my name
- Current registration
- California smog exempt (1975 and older)

- Service receipts for the September to October 2025 work

- Deposit through eBay at purchase, balance through eBay Secure Purchase
- Local pickup in Hermosa Beach, CA, or buyer-arranged shipping after payment clears
- Pre-purchase inspections are welcome, arranged and paid for by the buyer
Receipts, plus photos of the undercarriage, front trunk, glove box and anything else you want to see, are available on request.
Sold by a classic car owner (I also own a restored 1970 Chevelle).
