1964 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Additional Info:
Imported this bus out of Canada a few years ago
Drove it around for a few weeks, does fine, figured I'd put it in the shop and start restoring it. Pulled the bumpers, installed a custom type 3 2" hitch so I could pull around a tear drop trailer I had and..............life happened.
It's been sitting in my shop now for a couple of years. You can clearly see the early pics when it was in Canada, vs. my shop pics, where I have a ton of gear piled around it. Bumpers ended up on another project which I sold, but, it comes with a blade for the front, along with a spare tire mount. Also included is 3/4 of another camper interior kit that I had picked up, and for some reason are now made out of gold.It has the typical rocker rust as shown in pics. Bones are perfect with some of the original undercoating still present. Somebody installed a "coleman" heater with a thermostat at one time, and mounted the tank on the roof behind pop top. Leaked, so, spots on roof (strangely) enough at least an inch above gutter, so, suspect condensation. Easy fix, just never got to it. Also, destroyed the wood paneling, and the head banger closet, and small closet is probably junk also, thus the included camper interior kit.14" stock, vented bus rims and hub caps.Brakes were, are good. Engine was fired up a few months ago, before I started installing the tow hitch, (which is a nice piece of gear) Rear stock bumper bolts directly onto it.
Top is ok. Canvas is ok, nothing speical just used and been sitting for awhile.
So, great bus, spend a day, make it a driver, go camping, and use it while you restore it. Not that hard to put them back together and a restored pop top camper is pushing 50k these days. I'd get around to it eventually, but, found something I want more. I've got a nice vw baja convert. and a Jeep Cherokee 4WD rigged for offroad in ebay also. All, start low, and NO RESERVE
With that, No reserve auction, starting low, so, no low-ballers, no trades. Vehicle is sold "As is-Where is". More than welcome to take a look before you bid on it.1000.00 Non-refundable deposit via paypal within 24 hours. Full payment within 5 days. If you can't meet that, don't bid, if you have 0 feedback or negative, don't bid before we talk.
OK, Got a thousand hits, wanting to know if I would sell it now, mostly low ballers, but, here it is. Also changed the Baja, and the Jeep. So, if you want em, buy em.

Ok, answer to a couple more questions. Would I drive it home? No, It's been sitting, Your chances are 50/50 and who wants to be on the side of the road. Tires are in great shape, but I suspect they're well past their expiration (6 years). I would bleed/flush the brake system. re-torque the heads, adjust valves, oil change, tune up..........You know, the basics. They sit well, but, your asking for trouble. My experience from back in the day when I would/could find a double cab in a field and get it home, or buy a 23 for 2500.00 and drive it cross country using my "complete" idiots manual. Obviously, a long, long time a go in a galaxy far away.
I can hold it as long as needed (agreed amount of time) in my shop, out of the weather, where it is now, after full pmt. of course.
