The exterior as you can see is beautiful. It has the chrome deluxe trim which really pops out against the paint. All of the doors line up and close great and tight. The bus is nice and straight. Has a set of Wolfsburg Safari windows on the front, and if you’ve never driven with the Safari windows you will be in for a surprise, there is nothing that can match the feeling of having an open front windshield! They also get a lot of compliments and looks of fascination as most people have never seen safari windows. Move around the bus and you will see this bus is equipped with pop out windows all around as well. This bus is solid and looks beautiful all around. Paint shines great and looks amazing going down the road, is my favorite color for a bus as it looks extremely classy and all the trim just stands out so much. Paint is not a brand new done last week $10K paint job just to be clear. Is it quality, yes. Does it look great, yes. It looks amazing in person, driving, and yes in pictures, but when you get right up to it there are a couple imperfections and some minor bubbling along the bottom of the front nose, see link for pictures. I don’t want you to think it’s not great because it certainly is, just want to point it out so there are no surprises. It’s a mint driver quality and usable bus, not a trailer queen that you’re afraid to use. For the price it is a steal. Most of the factory undercoating is still present on all the floor paneling and frame rails, helping them standup over time without rusting and rotting, which is very rare for a Bus of this age. No frame or floor patches whatsoever. I included pictures showing the inside of the wheelwells which also still have the undercoating, mint solid shape. The frame and floors on most buses this age have been patched left and right, this one is perfect…!
As you will also see the interior is in excellent condition and is outfitted with the best camper equipment available… Westfalia. The cabinetry is in great shape, fold out table is good, cushions are near perfect as well as the cabinets. Plenty of storage. Closet still even has the mirror hanging in it! The bed folds out and works as it should, and as you notice in the pictures the floor is beautiful… the wood flooring really brightens up the interior and keeps everything fresh and clean looking! Dash is in good shape, door panels are in good shape, all upholstery in good shape. It is an original walk thru which I love and have always preferred as opposed to the bench seat.
Engine, transmission, brakes, electrical? Yes, all work fantastic! The engine runs fantastic. Lots of power and very reliable. Starts right up and idles fantastic, no smoking, odd noises, etc. Transmission and clutch are great, no slipping, grinding, or popping out of gear. E-Brake works great, tires are in fair shape but will be honest and say that if you’re going to do some long trips you may want to replace (have a little bit of dry rotting that’s started). Lights work; headlights, high beams, blinkers, hazards, brake lights, etc. Horn works. Interior lights work. Brakes work great, no pulling or grinding.
With that said you’re going to love this bus, I can sure guarantee that. It is a great conversation starter and everyone will surely be amazed when you tell them all about it and take them for a ride. The only flaw is that your hand is going to be sore because of all the high fives!
If you have any additional questions please reach out prior to bidding. Please look at all the pictures and videos. I am open to and would encourage you to come see it in person or have an inspection done prior to bidding. I've bought and sold cars on Ebay before and definitely want to make sure both you and I have a positive experience, and will do whatever I can to make sure we do. As you’d expect it does have a couple dings, scratches, etc, its 50 years old. If you want any additional or specific pictures please let me know, but I’m confident that you’ll see everything you can want if you follow the link as it has 140 or so pics of everything. Just to be clear, the camping accessories and whatnot that are shown in the pictures with the bus are not included, nor is the roof rack (promised the roof rack to a friend for letting me use his garage). The bus is sold as is, $2,000 deposit via PayPal due within 24 hours and non-refundable, full payment due within 7 days. Payment must be made via wire transfer, cash in person, check (upon clearing)... wire is easiest and therefore preferred. Shipping cost is buyer's responsibility. Willing to work with shipping company to help coordinate pickup. Bus is for sale locally as well and therefore I reserve right to end the auction early, unless of course you use Buy It Now, which is priced to sell at $33,500. Buy it now tends to disappear
