1974 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia coupe
I’m selling this 1974 VW Karmann Ghia coupe. It was restored in the mid 90’s. It’s a decent little car that would be a nice project or a fun driver. It was repainted in the original blue but it has some ghost flames on the front. The body and paint work is definitely showing it’s age. There is some rust bubbling on the rockers and doors and the paint is more or less falling off in a couple places. There is a little rust in the floorpan under the driver’s seat (pictured). It seems to be a pretty solid little car overall though.
The interior has been redone in black and grey velour with blue accents that are “ghia shaped” on the doors. It has a custom stereo and a racing type shifter. It’s not perfect but for its age, the interior decent. All of the lights and wipers work. The stereo doesn’t work but it’s a tape deck so I wasn’t too concerned.
I was told that the engine is a 1776cc built with Gene Berg parts. I can’t confirm this but it does have a Gene berg pulley and full flow oil system. It has dual Kadron carbs, a Bosch 009 distributor and a header type exhaust with dual mufflers. It runs pretty well and has good power. The front end has been lowered a little and it has new tires. The odometer reads 21,725 but I assume it’s turned over at least once. I also have the original owners manul which shows that it was sold new at Ed Carroll VW in Fort Collins, CO on January 10th, 1975.
I am happy to sell to overseas buyers. I do not offer shipping but I will coordinate pickup with your shipper. Thanks!
