Vanagon Syncro fixer upper. This car drives but need some TLC. This would be a perfect car for an engine conversion to Subaru or 1.8T. I initially bought it myself for an engine conversion but did switch to an DOKA and that the only reason I am selling it. It is a great price but has his issues. The body is straight and only has some dents and no corrosive rust on any place. Only some slight metal surface rust on places where the metal is exposed. The part what needs attention is the Syncro transmission. It shifts fine and all gears working but when shifting fast in the 3rd gear than you hear the grinding noise. If you shift slow it is not noticeable. The engine is old and runs but probably needs some TLC as well. I did not care because when I bought it i was planing for an engine swap. The transmission overhaul is about $1200 and the engine overhaul between $1800-$2200 but now you got a Syncro with warranty on the engine and drivetrain, not something you get when you buy it without knowing. The price is good and reflects a typical price for a syncro without motor and transmission. I also have an weekender interior what I add to this car with site table and sleeping bed. Perfect for short camping or off road weekends.
