1986 VW Vanagon Syncro Westfalia “Westy” Weekender with factory AC, oflburg Edition. This is a 4 speed and also has the extra low “granny” gear. This had been sitting for a few years when I got it, nd my mechanic got it running, eplaced fuel pump, ater pump, ront brake calipers and rotor and pads, ew battery, as tank flushed and cleaned, ooling system flushed and cleaned and a several other repairs. BF Goodrich All-Terrain Tires, ncluding matching spare, ppear to be nearly new. Body does have some rust…see pictures for condition…I included close ups of the worst areas. Passenger side foot/step well is also rusted. Luckily there are repair panels available for these worst areas from places like GoWesty and Bus Depot, ince these are common rust areas on these Vanagons. There are also other small surface rust spots, aint chips, ings, tc here and there. Windshield is cracked, river’s side mirror is cracked and lower front grille is cracked. Undercarriage is solid. Top canvas has a few holes, ut can be patched up. Top mattress and rear mattress are in nice shape with no rips. Seat upholstery needs attention…rear bench has a couple small tears, umpseat has no tears but has a large stain, ront buckets both have tears on lower cushion and armrests are worn...see pics. I am including some other parts with the sale as seen in the pictures. Ac is complete, ut does not blow cold.
This would make an excellent restoration candidate or drive as is with all its “character”. Even though it is running and driving, would not recommend driving a long distance without completely going through everything. I bought this as a project but selling now to fund my business.
Please e-mail me with any questions, r if you prefer to talk, lease send your phone number and I will call you. If you want to see any other pictures, lease let me know and I will take them and send to you. You are also welcome to come see it in person…please contact me.
Please ask questions before bidding. If you are winning bidder, hen it is considered sold to you at the final price and afterward is not the time to evaluate the condition and bargain on pricing. Sorry to have to mention that, ut I have had too many winning bidders not follow through, r come to get the car and start picking it apart and try to get for a lower price. Please be sure you are not comfortable with the Ebay auction process before bidding. Thank you!
