We are selling this awesome, awesome Syncro on behalf of a friend, who has owned and enjoyed the van since 2015. Over the course of his ownership, this van has been subject to a tremendous amount of attention, and is everything we could ever ask for from an adventure vehicle. It has been used for cross-country camping trips on multiple occasions, has been gone-through with a fine tooth comb from a mechanical standpoint, and provides an incredibly civilized, confidence-inspiring driving experience that we have never seen before from a VW van. With its new, reliable, and efficient drivetrain, the van will cruise down the highway at 75mph at only about 3000rpm, and feels perfectly stable and content at speed. No expense has been spared in making this Syncro fully prepared for long-haul camping adventures. Exterior: - Please see the video along with the listing, as this will be your best look at the vehicle. - Slate Grey wrap (applied early 2018) looks great, with a slight, metal-like flatness to it. - Body is in excellent shape, with no dents or dings. Very little for body blemishes either; there are a few very minor bubbles scattered about the van, which are shown in the photos and video. - Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack-free. - All seals and weatherstripping is new or extremely close to it. - Wheels are in excellent shape, with no significant damage or oxidation. Tires are in great shape as well; lots of tread left, and the DOT number indicates that they were manufactured in 2014. - Winch and LED lights are functional. Interior: - Interior is very impressive, with minimal signs of wear. Black leather front seats with custom desert canvas armrests and headrests. Rear jump seat fully wrapped. The only real signs of wear in the interior are a couple minor stains on the rear curtains. - Original grey carpeting is in nice shape, with no significant aging. The van will also come with a large, astroturf-like mat for the front floor. - Odometer reads 304,900km (189,500 miles), which is believed to be accurate chassis mileage. A ScanGauge II has been mounted under the dash, which monitors the vehicles powered systems (everything from fuel pressure to battery voltage to temperature to miles per gallon). - Heat and air conditioning are functional, as is the Pioneer radio. - Sink and drain system was just gone-through in 2017, and the van is also set up for a propane stovetop in the rear (with VW logo burners!) - There is a bed up top in the pop-up top, and another full size bed in the cabin. The bench seats in the rear fold out into a flat surface, and the sleeping area is surrounded by a number of large cargo cubbies. There are also rungs to hang a small hammock across the cabin, for a pet or child bed. Under the Hood / Underbody: - Please take a look at the underbody photos, as it’s documented in detail. The underbody is in really, really nice shape. No through rust whatsoever, and barely even any surface rust. No evidence of damage either. This van has been responsibly owned and it shows. - The van with come with quite a few receipts from the current owner’s time with the vehicle, as well as the original manuals and booklets. All modifications are documented with receipts. Up until the car was purchased by the current owner in 2015, it was unbelievably unmolested. - Turn-key. A ready driver. Absolutely no tendencies of concern, very nicely-sorted. Just about all of the general wear items in the suspension have been replaced in the last few years, and it’s easy to see that when behind the wheel. The van makes no rattles or creaks, and feels unbelievably tight and responsive. Certainly not quite the driving experience you expect from a vintage VW camper. The motor only has 45k miles from new on it, and only 6k miles since a rebuild, and the Subaru 5spd manual transmission is brand new, with only a thousand or so miles on it. It is properly quick with this new drivetrain, quicker than some sports cars of the same era! This van has a long, hopefully well-used and appreciated life ahead of it.
