1973 VW Thing - AWESOME! All original - NO RUST

This is a stunning VW Thing that is in remarkable condition. This was a California auto most of its life until the last several years until it was brought to the south. RUST- FREE. This car is so fun to drive and turns heads like a Lamborghini. It is all original with the exception of added fog lights and stereo. It purrs like a kitten with no oil leak or smoking. It has plenty of pep andcruises through the gears effortlessly.The convertible top is new, it has new bias-ply tires, and a new transmission. The interior and exterior look fantastic. Everything works. The odometer reads 37,000 and change but it is not turning. Based on the condition of everything I can see such as pedals, shifter, steering wheel,etc... Ican honestly say the miles are pretty close to being correct.This car was either taken care of extremely well OR has had some restoration. I think the later because all trim and rubber gaskets look to be new. The car has never been wrecked and holds the road straight and true. What an awesome find. I talked with a friend of the family whom owned one of these when he was younger. I was concerned about the paint because it has a texture that is referred to as orange peel. He looked at my pictures and stated to me that he knows his paint was original and it had the same texture as this one. So, the paint is the original look even if it has been re-painted. The paint looks great but has just a few scrapes where the doors were opened to far and rubbed the mirrors. I have ordered some touch-up to correct those small spots.
The engine lid closes tight. I just didn't close snug when taking the pictures. I just realized that when reviewing my listing.
