Overview:
Up for sale is my beloved 1964 "S" Push Button VW Notchback done in the cleanest classic gloss white paint code (5 years old) I've ever seen. (-Car comes with paint can and code if ever wanting to touch up/re-spray). Personally, I'm not into the reds, burgundys, blues, yellows or any other non-complimentary colors on these old Notchbacks I've seen out there on the web. This color makes for a very timeless, gorgeous, and extremely presentable Notchback ready for an award show. The previous owner owned a body shop and did a fantastic chassis/body-off paint job and properly powder coated the underside and around the engine compartment. Dropped a brand new 1776cc motor with only about 10k miles on her at this point! Compression is fantastic, has a very powerful motor, and fast! Interior and exterior are in excellent condition. Many upgrades and maintenance receipts. This car has been very cared for and cherished! Always garage kept with cover on it and she gets tons of attention! This is in the top 1% of all Notchbacks out there. People always ask me if I'm selling it or want their picture taken with it. This car really puts smiles on people's faces.

Some recent work completed:
Here is a taste of work completed on 4/11/2016 and have only put 200 miles on the car since:Rebuilt both carburetors, brand new disk brakes, hoses, wheel bearings & repacked, new master cylinder, replaced transmission seal, replaced back brakes, back plate & wheel cylinders, rear axle seal kit, replaced brake fluid/bled system (twice), replaced push rod tubes & seals, adjusted valves, new ignition wires set, brand new battery, spark plugs, timing adjusted, replaced valve cover gaskets, replaced rear engine seal, o-ring & clutch disc, degrease & deglazed fly wheel, oil pump gaskets, fan belt, fuel hoses, wheel alignment (comes with alignment schematics in receipts - this took a lot of investigating to figure out, so don't lose that piece of paper if you ever need to get another alignment done- just show them the paper!), new steering box, new king pin bushings, and much more. Labor was $8,000! And parts came out to $2,000+. There is just too much good stuff to list about this car and I hope I did a decent job in my attempt.
Two minor things about this car is a very small couple of bubbles (way smaller than the size of a pea) on the bottom front passenger side door. It was always there and never cared to get it checked out because it never bothered me and hasn't gotten any bigger since owning the car. You can hardly see it and no one will ever notice it. Also, the middle dash speaker was taken out by previous owner and covered up with some grey vinyl to match the interior. Those are the only things I can think of to mention in this ad!
In the 4 years I've owned the car, I've invested about $20k into it because I'm very meticulous and love to care for my cars. Did I need to spend this much and do everything I did to it? No. This is a great deal just on the fact that in parts and labor alone. The previous owner spent well over $50k (+ 12 months for this body off restoration job) and I've spent about $20k. Never mind the car itself- that's 70 grand just on parts and labor!!!
In conclusion:
This is a beautiful 1964 VW Semi Custom/Resto Mod California Notchback. Take it to any VW show and stand out from the rest of the Bugs and Buses everywhere. The car gets tons of thumbs up and plenty of attention. People ask if I want to sell or trade the car every time I take it on the road. Makes for great conversations and park it anywhere for a fantastic photo opp! Every time I park it, I like to drop all the air out and it just looks like a dream. This rare and early Notchback is definitely hard to top and is the cleanest one I've ever come across. It is fully detailed, super clean, and ready to enjoy. This amazing car is ready for shows and cruising around.
Believe me, this beauty has been cared for. Comes with tons of receipts from previous owners and myself. You'll have fun just going through all the paperwork! There are some pics from the restoration job, the original wiring diagram (great to hold onto), and even comes with the birth certificate (C.O.A.) from Volkswagen, and much more!
The reason I'm selling is because I just bought a house and although I've gained living space, I'm losing some garage space. I'll be downsizing to a smaller garage and losing my 4th spot at my new place. So, one of the cars has to go. I have always kept her in a garage with the car cover on and so did the previous owners. The custom car cover will be included in the sale. She really does deserve to be kept in a garage. Also, I don't have too much time to enjoy the car and would rather this go to someone who can put some miles on her. I bought the car in the beginning of 2013 and have only put 4,000 miles on it. I only take it out for a spin on average about once or twice a month, if that. It's a true garage queen right now. I believe the previous owner only put about 8,000 miles on the motor. You do the math! This is a 52-year-old car and looks brand new. You'll absolutely flip out when you see it in person. I'm an honest seller and if you have any questions I'll do my very best to answer each one. If you live far away and are thinking of shipping, it's a breeze. I've done it a few times with other vehicles and will accommodate your shipping company's needs. I can even help guide you through the process if it's your first time.
Best of luck!
