I had picked this rat dub up a few years ago and it was not running, we went thru and totally rebuilt the Weber carburetors, found slight rust in the left jug so we pulled it a part and went thru and freshen up the cylinder with new rings. it does have a slight drip of oil at the trans to engine mount (seal im guessing) but we have been driving it to all shows as is. from the research I have done this Dub came out of the Kentucky area as the pinstripping has been done at Killer Designs by Darin Allen in Greenup Kentucky. if you research "Friki Tiki VW" you will find lot of history on this classic build. it no longer has the back seat in it. the floors have been reworked with new pans but could use a little more work.we redid all the brakes and had to redo some of the electrical to make the stop lights work. No turn signals as of yet. the linkage between the two Webers could use a little tuning yet and the return spring for is a little stiff casing the driver to have trouble holding a steady peddle. the pipes are perfect for this engine set up and sounds like a big block coming down the road!.
