1963 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Additional Info:
Up for sale is my 1963 Beetle. It was my daily driver for a couple years but I moved further from work so not as practical as it used to be and I have too many projects.Visual:This beetle is driver condition. It looks good but has it's flaws. Good EMPI? wheels. The pan is very nice and clean. No noticeable rust. This is a CA car. Not a rust bucket. The body is pretty straight except for where I backed into a pole. See pics. This revealed a body filler spot on hood so not sure the extent of it. Paint job has some flaws probably a 1990's repaint in dark grey. Looks great from 20 feet away. No bumpers.Mechanical:1974 1776 dual port engine with cam and large valves in the heads. Upgraded EMPI rocker shafts. Stock carb runs good but dual Webers would make it run even better. Stock 1963 transmission works well. Front disc brakes with Bus Master Cylinder. Car is lowered, turned down. Tires have OK wear but are older. Stock type on front with wider on rears. New JBugs wiring harness 95% done needs front turn signals and windshield wipers hooked up. 12 volt conversion complete except wipers. Can sit for 1 month and start right up no problem. Speedometer just stopped working this month at 00010 miles after rollover. Glass packs installed and stock exhaust in hand.Interior-1/2 done 1 piece window conversion needs to be completed (will need minor fab work). New side glass and regulators. Original regulators were shot. Radio hole is cut. Steering wheel is tiny. Vinyl seats and headliner look ok but are probably 20 years old but make a good initial impression. Carpet is OK. Lots of speakers but no radio. Needs interior door handles (cheap). No seatbelts. I think 63 was the last year without belts.Overview:If you are looking for a good California car...something to tinker with as you drive that wont let you down or leave you stranded this is a good option for you. Also, if looking for something to restore it would be great.Let me know if you have questions.$500 Pay-Pal Deposit. Cash in person unless otherwise arranged previous to auction end.
