1967 VW “Splittie”, Type 2 Bus. If you are looking for the frame off restore, classic 7 window, “Filmore” is the one! Bus finished in classic paint and colors with matching seats all new! This has gone through 3 year journey after receiving it from my buddy in Telluride Colorado (original owner) a very extensive no expense spared nut and bolt, bare metal restoration, with all panels and floors that needed replacing replaced. It is as straight and perfect as they get. The bus has thenbeenthrough afinal prep and paint in the stunning two tone color you see it in today, it’s had a full complete spray inside, outside and underside. Inside and underspray done with “bedliner” but this was not a coverup, I have 100 pictures +!
All completely new wiring, every light brand new, you name it!
It is running a standard 1500cc engine which has been fully reconditioned with all components renewedincluding the fuel systemmaking the engine run smooth and sound like it should. The gearbox has undergone a complete service andhas original gear stick and steering wheel, turns and shifts effortlessly. New ignition, alternator, distributor, carburetor, pulleys and belts, new coil, distributor, spark plugs. Oversized oil pan installed so engine runs cool. Engine runs like a top and looks amazing, all paint and work done with amazing care!
The buses exterior comes withEMPI wheels sitting on classic white walls, all brand new with less than 100 miles. The brake system has had a complete overhaul.
It hasdeluxe, pop out side windows, safari windows, new door handles and windows and doorseals are new.
The interior has been newlyupholstered with the matching vinyl, and is ready for a weekend, or a custom buildout depending on your application. Again all interior bedliner painted 2 coats, so quiet ride. Filmore is in Dallas, Texas and is going into the Mecum Auction on Nov, 2, 2016. Buy it before it gets there and save some money. Clean Colorado title, and nothing spared on this cool bus! Filmore is having his 50th Birthday this coming year, but runs and looks like a teenager. I love to Sunday drive but might part with him if the right price and home comes up.
