Up for auction, is my 1967 Volkswagen Beetle. I hope to provide you with the best possible description as I feel it is really important thatthe buyer feels this car was represented accurately, and the money spent was worth every penny.
I think it would be best to describe this car as a nice clean “original survivor”. It is in really good condition all around as seen in the pictures, and it drives just as nice. For a car that is nearly50 years old, the condition is amazing, but it does have little bumps, bruises, scuffs and scrapes throughout. Fortunately, they are very easily missed if not being looked for, and the pictures providedarea good example. You will find the interior to be in good used condition with very minimum damage aside from the top of the rear seat where the sun has caused the material to dry and crack. Mechanically it runs outstanding. It starts up every time, and it has been very well maintained. Over the last couple years I have personally driven this car between my two homes in Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada just for fun and better fuel economy.
This car was purchased by my mother in 2003 from a man who lived in Reno, Nevada and owned it most of its life. She was specifically looking for a 1967, not because it was considered rare, or because it had a certain style, or any other reason someone may want a 67. It was mostly because of old child- hood memories she had spending time traveling around with her mom and brother, whom have both passed.
Now that mom has become older, and I work so much, the car does not get driven, or the attention it deserves. It sits in the garage under a cover and only gets pulled out every couple months to run the motor and geta quick dusting. It is our hope the new owner can enjoy this car and build new memories with it just as we have. It truly is something unique and should be seen out in the open, not tucked away, hidden like we are currently doing.
Known issues:
The seatbelts do not work. They pull from the housing, but the springs that retract the belts are broken. Currently they have been manually rolled back into position.
The speedometer, although functional makes a horrible noise when driving, so it has been disconnected. I'm assuming it may need a rebuild or replacement.
The top of the rear seat has been sun baked and is dry and cracking.
The interior panels are starting to peel back from around the edges. I personally feel this is not a big deal as the fabric is still in great condition. It just needs the corners rewrapped because the glue holding them has started to fail.
The interior window linings are showing their age and becoming dry, cracked, and sun stained.
Perks:
I have the original owner’s manual.
I have years of service papers to include, a new motor rebuild, new carburetor, new fuel lines, and much more.
Seven out of the eight windows are VW original. All but the front windshield.
The car has just been serviced. Fresh oil change, brakes adjusted, and chassis lubed.
This car is solid and has zero rust rot (some surface rust here and there, but mostly on the inside of the chrome bumpers).
As you can see I’ve been a long time Ebay member with a 100% feedback score. This is the sixth car listed on Ebay and all the previous buyers felt there vehicles were well represented, as I’m sure you will as well.
This car has a clean and clear Nevada title in my name.
