Want a nice project to keep you busy this winter? Up for sale is a 1968 Triumph TR250 project car. The TR250 mated the old Michelotti styled body with the new 6 cylinder TR6 engine and was made for only one year. This makes it one of the most collectable of the Triumphs.
This is a project car that is non-running and will require various body and frame rust repairs. Look at the pics to get a general idea of the work required. Everything is there and it still has the rare factory yellow/black hoses! The commission plate shows this was originally a Royal Blue (code 56) car with black (11) trim.
I am the second owner. Good NJ title that was issued in 1968 to the original owner (see pics). This is a big project but will make for a very exciting, valuable car when you're done.See the last 2 pictures of what this car could look like when it is restored.
UPDATE: I’ve had many requests for pics of the frame and trunk (see new pics added). To answer your questions, the frame has had some repairs done many years ago by the previous owner who welded inpatches There are a few visible spots that would need some repair…for instance, the lower breastplate has a rust hole that needs repair (see pic). Not as bad as some others I've seen before restoration, so definitely salvageable.
More answers: The engine turns over by hand and there are two spare wire wheels, a tonneau cover and hood cover that are included.
Also, someone mentioned that the Amoco center console with 'rally clock' is a very rare item and would be worth restoring. I guess it must be rare…I’ve had a few offers to sell it separately!!!
Please read the following to avoid any misunderstandings: Please ask questions and ask for more details if you need them. The car is a project, therefore it is sold AS-IS (duh!) I suggest that if you are serious about buying it, that you come inspect it.
Shipping: PICK-UP ONLY! YOU arrange the shipper. I can help load it onto a trailer
