It is know and recognized as "Katie", by it British Registration, in Triumph circles. It has a long, extensive history and comes with amazing documentation of ownership etc. There is a nice collection of spares including a new wiring harness if ever need be.Triumph 1800 Roadster history: https://www.gbclassiccars.co.uk/triumph_1800_2000roadster.htmlVideo of this Roadster being driven: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeYc99hTm2cAmazing History of Katie (click twice): https://b2gw.com/cms/Tal3sm6iEeo/83fda5bc6a6447bdb5bcbd49fa0ae8e0Facebook Registry for Triumph Roadsters: https://www.facebook.com/groups/110468112669668BAT Roadster just sold for $29. No top, no history https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1946-triumph-1800-roadster-3/These cars are very unique having a second fold up windshield and twin rumble buckets. They make great parade cars for Dad's, Grandads, Mom's and Grandma's! At car show's kids are just amazed at an opportunistic dream to be riding in the back. Then I show them the step on the rear bumper! Some are shy, some get in and want to stay in the dickey seat for a while! It is a great early automotive experience for kids, that were bored before, that soon realize some cars feature kids desires! They almost have a Rolls Royce Classiness, with a bit of cute, Cartoon Charcter style w the long front end, and rounded back end.The wood dash is a nice touch!Let me clarify, these cars do not have ash frames. It has a robust steel tubular frame. The body pieces have ash in them to assemble the skin to the body frames. This Triumph has been fully serviced, stops as well as a four wheel drum brake car can. IFrom the factory these Roadsters had lever arm shocks, and drove accordingly. The owner of this car had us manufacture our own tube shock conversions front and rear w adjustable Gaz shocks, and they are nicely dialed in, making the car stable and have a comfortable drive. It is an amazing transition.WE installed an electric fuel pump as well. You would have to crank the starter quite a while to drive the fue pump to fill the carb to get it to start. It starts instantly now!The speedometer works smoothly and shows 42367 miles. It has the convertible top but could stand a new one. It is good enough for occasional use, but you know what? You will never put the top up....it is more fun to wear a leather jacket, hat and neck wrap in the winter!!!!Videos to come! Here is a previous add for similar car:https://barnfinds.com/rare-roadster-1946-triumph-1800/Driving and running and walk around video compilation:https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=shared&v=XUHQPNLHsKwA message from the owner:

Presented here is “Katie”, a1948TriumphRoaster1800. The car’s registration is TRD2450, andis therefore one of the last 1800s produced (only 50 were produced after Katie). Thecar is powered by a 1.8-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. This is one of the most “original” Roasters on the road.

Features include body-color steel wheels, hubcaps, whitewall tires, rear-hinged doors, fender-mounted side mirrors, wood interior trim, and rear jump seats, or “dickey seats”, as they were called. These dickey seats also have a fold-up windscreen of their own.The Roaster was the last production car in the world to have a rumble, or dickey, seat.

Purchased by Standard Motor Company in November 1944, Triumph—led by its managing director Sir John Black—commissioned the 1800 roadster as an attempt to compete with Jaguar, for which SMC had supplied engines before World War II. Due to postwar steel shortages, the car was constructed of aluminum panels formed using rubber press tools and mounted on ash wood framework, with steel used for the front fenders.

Body-color 16” steel wheels wear bright-finished hubcaps and are mounted with whitewall tires. The chassis uses tubular-steel construction and a live axle with semi-elliptical springs at the rear. Braking is handled by drums at all four corners.Although the suspension has been upgraded with contemporary shocks for a better ride and handling, the originalindependent front suspension with transverse leaf springscomes with the car. Additionally, the original horns are present and operational, but for added safety, more contemporary horns have been added. Similarly, seatbelts have been added to the car.Exterior details include triple windshield wipers, fender-mounted headlamps, dual front horns, quarter-panel stone guards, a rear step bumper, and a single exhaust outlet. Trafficators are located behind each door.Although the quality of the paint is very good, there are occasionalblemishes.

This car includes the original engine, transmission anddrive-train. Commented by some Roaster experts as one of the most original Triumphs they have seen.In fact, at the Dallas 2023 All British Car Day, Katie was given the “BestPreservation“ awardby Kip Motors (one of the top awards of the event). At the 2016 Triumph National Convention Concoursd’Elegance, Katie received first place in the Historic Pre-TR Class.Below is a list of awards:

2023 All British Car Day, Dallas Tx. 1st in Class

2023 All British Car Day, Dallas Tx. Best Preservation (presented by Kip Motors)

2022 Park Cities Car Show, Best in Class

2016 Triumph National Convention, Concoursd’Elegance: 1st Place in Historic Pre-TR Class

Theorignalfive-digit odometer shows 42374miles.All instruments are original to the car and, exceptfor theclock, are operational.

The car has been cared for over the years as confirmed through past owners (ownership history back to 1957 is known). The following work has been performed by the current owner over the last 10 years:
