1967 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40
I bought this FJ40 from the original owner. He bought it brand new in Susanville CA, then moved to the desert area of Boise ID in 1976 where it lived until I bought it. This Cruiser is original paint and 99% rust free, it runs/drives. Last registered in 1995, just drove around on his ranch periodically to shoot coyotes. I’ve restored dozens of FJ40’s, extremely rare to find an original paint rust free unit that is mostly stock. Please watch the entire video and view all the pics on the link, I go into much more detail that can’t be articulated in text. I’ve driven this FJ40 20 miles to test it out, no complaints, but I would do more testing before taking it on a long trip.

MECHANICAL
The original F motor let go in the early 90’s and was replaced with a basic GM 350 that had 35k miles on it. The wheel cylinders, clutch and slave were replaced at the same time. We tested the motor compression and leak down, came out excellent. The 3 on the tree was converted to 3 on the floor. Some of the original 3 on the tree components are included in a box. We checked all the fluids and replaced any that needed attention.
BODY
The body is original paint (Yosemite Yellow code 529) extremely rare color only a few got from 64-67. All the panels are original, frame is excellent, best way to buy any vintage vehicle, you know exactly what you are getting. The rear sill lip has some common rust (it’s a 90 degree piece of sheet metal easily replaced) and 1 small hole in the driver side step. Overall one of the best original FJ40’s I’ve seen. If you look on my Photobucket library, you will see everything from 1st year FJ45 pickups to last year 1983 FJ40’s factory air and PS, if you want to look at ideas.
This FJ40 has never been offered for public sale since new. I’ve been out of restoring FJ40’s for a few years, I’m doing C10 pickups now, I could not pass this one up when I got the call. I bought it for resale, this is a special rig, I’ve priced it tp sell quick. The only place to find FJ40’s this rust free are in the western US deserts. When they became popular 10-15 years ago, most of them have been bought up, here is your chance to get an original without the huge price tag. I’m selling this FJ40 as is, I do not have any shop time to do upgrades.
I will sell the truck to the 1st local or long distance buyer willing to pay $11,500 firm. I’ve sold a lot of cars on eBay, ½ the time the buyer does not come through and eBay does not return fees, so after loosing thousands over the years, I go with the 1st guy/gal that pays for the truck. I accept bank to bank wire transfer to my US Bank business account or cash in person only.I have an excellent shipping broker whom I can put you in contact with, quote from my broker for the buyer only, plenty of options to get ball park quotes through ebay or on the web. The truck and papers only leave my property when payment is made in full and cleared. I’m a licensed vintage auto appraiser, I find no offense in you hiring someone like me to inspect this truck during not after the auction. Thanks!
