Here’s your chance to own a rare piece of automotive history — one of only 1,200 1939 Studebaker Coupe Express Trucks ever made.

This truck has had significant professional work done, particularly to the chassis. The frame has been refurbished and upgraded, including:

• New rear brakes
• Front disc brake conversion
• All-new bushings, paint, and hardware

The body is straight, though it has not been restored like the frame. Doors open and close with ease. I aimed to maintain the stock appearance with improved drivability. The electrical system was converted to 12 volts, featuring new wiring to support fuel injection. A one-barrel throttle body bolts directly to the original intake, maintaining an authentic look. The alternator mimics the original generator, and the plug wires are styled to look period-correct as well.

All lights, blinkers, horn, and dome light function properly. Since completing the upgrades, I’ve driven the truck a few hundred miles with zero issues.

If I were to keep it, I’d next focus on the interior. The seat (not original) has tears, though new door panels are included and ready for upholstery to match. The truck retains some of its factory teal color on the dash.

To my knowledge, the engine has not been rebuilt and was on the list following a upgraded interior. Studebaker used this block design well into the 1940s and ’50s, so replacing it with a rebuilt engine offering a few more cubic inches would be an easy upgrade.
