1963 Studebaker 2R10 Additional Info:

We have for sale a 1963 Studebaker Avanti. This car is factory supercharged R2 4 speed car, gold in paint and Faun interior. It is a late ’63 car so it has the woodgrain steering wheel and gauge and switch panels. It was also optioned with power steering and power front disk brakes. This car was sold new here in New Mexico and it has stayed here ever since so the frame and hog troughs are rust free. The car had the windows broken out of it years ago so the interior needs completely redone but it is complete. The car comes with an OE complete set of glass and all OE gauges in nice shape except the speedometer. The car retains the original short block, transmission and rear end. The whole top end was removed and sold off the car years ago. We have a complete blower set up with everything required, including carb, that was removed off a running R2 car that was switched to AC. We also have a 4bbl intake manifold and chrome valve covers. But we are missing the cylinder heads and valve train. We also have very nice OE dashboard included with the car. The drivers fender is broken but we have patch panel off of another car to fix it. We also spent the past year buying miscellaneous trim and interior parts to make the car more complete. The car has brand new 15x6” keystones with new tires all the way around. The factory steel wheels and hubcaps will be included with the sale. If the buyer does not want the keystones, we’ll take $500 off of the sale price and put used tires on the steel wheels so it can be moved easily. The car is definitely a project, but they made only 1500 R2 cars in 1963, and the value is climbing, restored cars can bring well over $50,000. We found the gentleman who bought the car in 1966 and owned the car through the mid 1980s, when it ended up in the Studebaker junk yard that we found it in. This gentleman had gotten a replacement title in 1972 that he still had and was nice enough to give to us, the license plate on the car matches said title and the last registration was in 1974. We have new issued title in our name.
