1963 Studebaker Avanti Additional Info:
Here we have a very original 1963 R2 Avanti factory delivered with a 4 speed transmission, and was a factory Public relations car sent to east coast for duty before public sale, It has factory power windows which do work, Twin track rear axle power steering and brakes, front and rear, tinted glass, hill holder clutch and rear speakers, power window washers also,
A Friend bought this car in 1965 and used it as a second car until 1983 when he parked it and made plans to fully restore in years to come, As the story goes time passes and they are pulled out of long time storage. We cleaned fuel system and changed all fluids and went through normal tune up procedures, car runs great and supercharger makes boost, right now it lot drives and will be easy to make into a driver, It will drive on trailer or short distances no problem,
Interior is in very nice and needs almost nothing to make show quality, all the gauges and tach work great, The engine sounds great, transmission has all gears, clutch is strong, I currently am fixing brakes, I will make sure it has a brake pedal sufficient to load car. comes with some NOS supercharged emblems and some other item, New hood insulation and some other small restoration parts,
Underneath it is in need of very little repair, Hog troughs are rust free, Has some rust on very bottom of I beam frame. Car will need very little metal work at all, never driven winters, just 54 years old, Was resprayed in late 70's in a little darker color, Paint is far from perfect but could be driven as is. I see no fiberglass repairs, LF park lamp lens is cracked,
Same owner for 50 year, has been in dry storage since 1983. I show a picture of the documentation, both sheets, Has more than typical options plus came with some horsepower and a 4 speed, Posi, The old "Casler style slicks are cracked up and will not be driven at any speed, Dash cluster and console and shifter look amazing, All heater cables move freely.
This car is complete, and appears to never have been apart. These early round headlight cars are rare and prices have spiked sharply in last year, Supercharged 4 Speeds are breaking the bank, These projects cars are almost gone.
