1959 Studebaker Silver Hawk 2-DR Additional Info:

1959 STUDEBAKER SILVER HAWK -- this vehicle is all original and with the exception of the rear fins -- many years ago the rear fins were unbolted from the fear fenders and whoever took them off used bondo to complete the disassembly making the rear fenders look like the earlier model studebakers -- at this time the bondo is peeling off leaving the rear fenders looking a mess -- if you are a studebaker fan you know that the rear fins were fastened on the rear fenders from the factory and some fins were fiberglass and some steel -- the 59 hawks were steel fins and i have both of them -- this is a project for the new owner too re-install the fins -- the pictures will show the fins as they are now -- also both fins have the SILVER HAWK emblems on them -- both fins are in very good condition as the pictures will show.
PLEASE LOOK THE PICTURES OVER VERY CLOSE -- This stude is a project however it has great possibilities as i will describe in the description --THE BODY is very straight and solid - the only rust is on the two front fenders on the lower side behind the front wheels and it is blistering an area the size of a baseballTHE FRAME AND UNDERSIDE -- this is all surface rust and absolutely no rot whatsoever -- all the metal is solid ( look the pictures over carefully )ENGINE AND DRIVE LINE -- the engine ( 259 V8 ) is all original and has not been running for 20 years.EXTERIOR CHROME AND STAINLESS TRIM -- the bumpers look very good for a car this age and the stainless trim is in very good condition and only needing polishing to restore --- you need to know the fender wheel trim is missing on all four wheels and can be purchased through studebaker restoration parts.WHEELS AND TIRES -- the tires are old and are not road worthy -- the rims and hubcaps are factory original and in excellent condition.INTERIOR AND GLASS -- the windshield and rear window are in great condition -- the passenger side door glass is cracked and the vent glass is blistering on the drivers side -- the interior seats and door panels are all original -- the padded dash is cracked as the rear seat back is coming apart also the headliner is in bad condition as well as the carpeting.
