1965 Shelby Cobra Backdraft 427 Additional Info:

On the outside this just looks like a beautifully-built 1965 Shelby Cobra, but then everybody else on the track starts wondering why you can smoke them all. That's because this is a Backdraft Racing Cobra. It means a 488 hp Roush 427 V8, a fully independent suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, beefy five-speed gearbox, and a whole host of other goodies to make this one of the baddest Cobra you've ever laid eyes on.
When you read about the horsepower on this one, you know they had to paint it black. After all, you should also look absolutely sinister if you're going to be the villain at every track day, right? This was bought new in 2014, and there are less than 2,200 miles on it. So you still have the kind of gloss that looks like it wants to inhale all the light around it. And because Backdraft cars are known for their workmanship, this one really gets the details right. The polished roll hoop, quick jack bumpers, and rivets in the hood are equal parts performance and style. Since this one was built to drive, there's even a polished heat shields on the side pipes that might save your pant leg. And perfectly complementing those shiny side pipes is a set of iconic ten-spoke Halibrand-style knock-off wheels.
All Cobras are about offering the wind-in-your-hair purist motoring, but you'll instantly notice this one also has been built for a bit more comfort and style. Curvy tan bucket seats look great, and more importantly, hold you in place during aggressive driving. Plus, this tan leather coordinates with the door panels and dash to look fantastic against the black paint. The whole interior is a modern take on the classic elements. For example, the steering wheel is a great wood and chrome unit, and it now has the Backdraft logo in the center. The seats belts are modern four-point harnesses. The bright gearstick is still tilted forward for driver comfort, and the upgraded AutoMeter gauges features the classic Cobra reverse speedo.
Once people get over all the shine that comes from opening the hood, the first question will be, "Is it really powered by Roush or are those just the valve covers?" That's when you can enthusiastically tell them the virtues of the Roush 427SRX V8. It's a 427 cubic-inch motor that has been fortified and enhanced with forged pistons, aluminum heads, roller cam, dual plane intake, Holley four-barrel carburetor, and a whole host of other goodies. It makes 488 hp right out of the box, and the header-fed side pipes do a great job of announcing all of the power. This is backed up by reliable components such as the Tremec TKO 600 five-speed manual. On the road or racetrack, you'll instantly feel the confidence the fully independent suspension gives you. Plus, there's superior control with the modern grip of the Falken Azenis tires that are backed up at each wheel with disc brakes.
This Cobra is faster and more comfortable than just about anything else you can find. Then when you look at the price for an example that's barely broken in, and well, then you already know how quick you need to be to grab this deal. Call today!!!
