Fast, fun, and one heck of a buy in the Cobra community We don't have to explain why you want this 1965 Shelby Superformance Cobra, but we are going to go through all the details so you know this one is even better than you expected. You already know that Superformance is the gold standard in the Cobra business, and building one from scratch isn't a bad idea. But if you're the anxious type, or a guy who doesn't feel like investing a small fortune in a custom build, then this turnkey ready car is right up your alley. It's a complete and straight roadster finished in a deep blue that looks great on this American racing legend. Mixed in with that great paint is a set of white stripes, because a Cobra without stripes just isn't right. Details like the knock-off style wheels, driver roll hoop, and jacking stubs not only add serious flair, but also suggest that it was built for combat. So even if you don't turn a wheel on the track, it's certain to turn heads on the street. The interior definitely gets the Shelby attitude right, with wrap-around buckets, racing seatbelts, and a fire extinguisher on the rear panel. The driver gets the full Cobra experience with the three spoke wood steering wheel and the Mustang shift lever that's been reversed to fit the driver perfectly. The full Smiths gauge package is AC Cobra correct, right down to the reverse position speedometer. If you do get caught in the rain, the full folding top and side curtains are a great friend to get you home. There's no radio, no power windows, no A/C this is a competition machine that's all about the driving experience and nothing else needs to get in the way.Speaking of the driving experience, the best part of a Cobra is always under the hood. This one is powered by a Ford 351 Windsor V8, and it is truly dressed to impress. The correct Cobra air filter, reservoir tank, intake, headers, and finned valve covers all have a uniform shine that really lets you know it is a thoughtful build (the fact that there's barely 20K miles on the whole build helps, too.) Beyond just looking good, the motor makes some serious power by inhaling through a Holley double-pumper four-barrel carburetor, and exhaling deeply through the rumbling side pipes. This V8 does a great job of moving the lightweight fiberglass body, and you can stay in the powerband with ease thanks to the Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Of course, power is nothing without control. That's why this Cobra comes with a fully independent suspension with adjustable coilovers at each corner. It's backed up by a four-wheel disc brake package that is connected to the expensive and grippy Goodyear Eagle GTII tires. This one is competitive fun on the street or track. A Cobra is a dream for a lot of us, so hurry up before a well-sorted, low-mileage, and speedy Superformance build gets snatched up by someone else. Call today!!
