1986 Porsche 944 Additional Info:

This pretty red 944 Turbo has been my reliable daily driver for a year now, and has had a lot of important work done under my care and that of the previous owner. He rebuilt the engine around 10000 miles ago, as well as installing a Lindsay Racing boost controller, wastegate and catback exhaust system. The car makes an estimated 280HP based on Lindsay Racing's dynos of similarly equipped cars.
While the engine was being rebuilt, this 951 received a new clutch, and a new water pump and timing belt as they all should every 30 thousand miles or so. The 5 speed transmission shifts easily and does not grind or feel rough at all. I suspect it was rebuilt at some time in the past because it really feels good. There is some slop in the shifter that could be ailed with the linkage part from only944.com. I have personally had the transmission out of the car and felt the gear selector input, it is tight and all the slack is in the shift linkage itself. The axles are brand new expensive Loebro items that have about 1000 miles on them.
The tires are from august 2016 with about 5000 miles on them, and are in great shape. The suspension has received new rear struts, front control arm bushings, tie rods and ball joints, as well as new wheel bearings. The brake discs are brand new up front and about 5000 miles on the rear, and the pads were replaced when the engine was out and have tons of life left of course.
The sunroof operates with new plastic gears but must be stopped with the switches because I never set the clutch up. The headliner is new as of my ownership. The seats have been reupholstered by the previous owner in their original black leather. The rear seats are original. The carpet is great in the passenger area and trunk but the driver footwell plastic stuff has hardened and cracked. The dashboard has a lot of cracks and could stand to be replaced or recovered. The steering wheel is original and in pretty good shape.
Heat works great, and A/C is all there, but there is a leak at the compressor so a replacement is needed. I had a replacement condenser installed and the system charged before I figured that out...
If you've read this far you probably can tell that I have treated this car to a lot of nice maintenance. It is not perfect but it is a fine driver example of a fast, fairly rare car that is very fun to own and drive. It was my daily driver and I only moved on because I purchased a Cayman S as a replacement. I wanted something with ABS, Airbags, a nice stereo, etc. I am listing the car auction style and the reserve is set at $8000. Please, PLEASE only bid what you are willing to pay, and if you have any questions, ask me BEFORE bidding. The car is in the Philadelphia suburbs and I will be glad to arrange shipping. Thanks for looking.
