Seven Hills Motorcars is extremely proud to offer this absolutely stunning 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix with only 47,865 Miles. This Model J is finished in the classic color combination of Starlight Black (19) over Black (296) interior. This is the correct and original color scheme as referenced on the trim tag pictured in this ad. This is one of the nicest original 1972 Grand Prixs on the market right now. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Pontiac in excellent condition that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as the market on Grand Prix's is strong right now and on the rise, especially for immaculate examples like this car. Please peruse all of the photos, video, and other information to get a true sense of how nice, and clean this Grand Prix really is.

This Pontiac is "numbers matching" meaning the engine in the car is the original unit that was installed at the factory in June of 1972. The last six digits of the VIN, "202687," are stamped on the block indicating this is the original engine that was installed into the car at the factor in June of 1972.

We have personally put over 500 miles on this Grand Prix including a 3+ hour drive home after the initial purchase. The Window's stayed up the whole trip with ice cold Air Conditioning. This is a true testament to how nice and sorted this car is. We wouldn't hesitate to hop in and drive this Pontiac anywhere as it sits today.

As a side note, this Pontiac Grand Prix is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Grand Prix, just give us a call.

Exterior

The Black exterior is in nice driver condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has a great gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely. The vinyl top is in fantastic condition with no rips or splits. The chrome and other brightwork is in fantastic original condition and a brilliant finish with no pitting. The wheels and center caps are in beautiful condition with a great finish and no curb rash. The BFGoodrich Radial TA raised white letter tires are sized 245/60R14 and have plenty of tread left. There are no major blemishes that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. As one would expect with a paintjob with this many years on it there are signs of age. There is some checking on areas around the car as well as some other faint imperfections that were too small to show up in the photos. As one can see in the many photos of the underside of the car there are absolutely no rust issues and it is very clean underneath. The frame is totally solid. We have included specific photos of the rear spring mounts, rockers, lower quarter panels, floor pans, and the areas most prone to rust to show how nice this car looks.

Window Date Codes

Please note that almost all of the glass on this Grand Prix is date coded and original as most pieces predate the car's body build date of the first week of June, 1972 (06A). Original glass is an excellent indication that this car has had no major accident history and never sustained significant damage.

Driver's Window - UN - "U" is July and "N" is 1971 so this window is original, made in July of 1972. This is correct as it predates the build date of the car.

Driver's Rear Window - JY - "J" is May and "Y" is 1972 so this window is original, made in May of 1972. This is correct as it predates the build date of the car.

Passenger Window - CN - "C" is November and "N" is 1971 so this window is original, made in November of 1971. This is correct as it predates the build date of the car.

Passenger Rear Window - JY - "J" is May and "Y" is 1972 so this window is original, made in May of 1972. This is correct as it predates the build date of the car.

Rear Window - JY - "J" is May and "Y" is 1972 so this window is original, made in May of 1972. This is correct as it predates the build date of the car.

Interior

The Black interior of the Grand Prix looks amazing. The seats are in wonderful shape with no seam splits, rips, or excessive wear. The seat is not overly worn in the typical area on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. The carpet is also in excellent condition with no stains, rips, or holes. The dash and console look amazing with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The bezel, column, glove box, and gauge cluster look spectacular. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are crystal clear. The door panels look excellent with no cracks or splits, and both door pulls are solid and intact. The headliner is in great shape with no holes or stains and no sagging. The package tray looks great with no warping, fading, or sun damage. Please note that the seat belts work and retract properly. This is a very common problem and an issue many buyer do not think to check. This car has not been smoked in; there are no burn marks and no aroma of cigarettes whatsoever. The cigarette lighter appears to have never been used.

The truck is clean, nicely detailed, and complete with the full size spare, jack, and jack base.

These Grand Prix interiors are not known to wear well and the magnificent condition of this interior is a testament to the meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its life and another great verification of the very low original mileage.

The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Mechanical

This Pontiac seems to be in excellent mechanical condition. As stated above we have put over 500 miles on this car with no problems or issues at all. The numbers matching 400ci engine starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. It drives great and floats down the highway. In the video in this ad one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no vibrations or strange noises and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes do not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shifts great well throughout the power band. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. The car runs cool and does not overheat. This Grand Prix has plenty of power and is quite fast with the 400ci V8. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, and correct as one can see in the photos.

The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, dash lights, indicators, and wipers. The blower for the heater and a/c works on all speeds. The a/c itself also works and blows cold. One can observe the air conditioning compressor clicking on and engaging properly in the video. Even detailed items like the key buzzer and trunk light work. All of the gauges work with the obvious exception of the clock. As one can hear in the video this Grand Prix has a very healthy exhaust note. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the windows down on a nice day.

The car runs and drives as well as it looks.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1972 Grand Prix is in absolutely magnificent condition and is truly an investment grade classic. The spectacular originality, the very ow original mileage, and the highly desirable and beautiful color combination make this particular Model J hard to duplicate. This Grand Prix always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. The prices of this body style Grand Prix have increased considerably over the past several years. They are secure and wise investments for a collector. Cars like this are the Barrett Jackson stars of the future. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
