1988 Pontiac Fiero GT Additional Info:
1988 Pontiac Fiero GT.Professionallybuilt 355 cubic inch Corvette TPI V8, otor has been balanced and the heads ported, bolt main block, owell wiring for injection, umalt engine mount kit modified by builder to achieve premium results. Unlike more common conversion kits, his set up locates the motor in a central position for superior weight distribution and power delivery, equiring custom heavy duty axles, s opposed to other kits which retain the light duty 4 or 6 cyl axles and wedge the V8 engine to one side requiring the frame to be cut to allow the water pump and pulleys to protrude int the wheel well area. Also with the aluminum heads and otheraccessoriesthe engine adds only 70 lbs to the car. The otheradvantage of this conversion is the ability to have the car serviced as any other GM product. You can simply hook up the same scanners as you would any GM car and all the data and diagnostics are the same. This is not a spliced together, ack yard, uild but a carefully thought out and engineered conversion. Even anelectronicallyactuated air door was crafted into the hood, r luggage compartment lid if you prefer, o remove hot air from the radiator when needed. And once again this modification is no "hodge podge" affair but was built with standard GM power seat motor andactuatorparts which can be serviced or replaced, pare parts come with the carin case anything were to ever fail but this system has workedflawlesslyoverthe life of the build. The car was built 15 years ago and has accumulated approximately 20k relatively trouble free miles. The only true repair needed was replacement of the injectors a year ago, hich is a common issue with the TPI motors. It should be now good for another 20 years. The car started a stock GT with 132k miles, t was purchased as a recovered theft with no damage. Due to this, t has a clear transferable title that has a branding of "reconstructed, rior collision" alabel the State of MA. attaches to many cars even though the has been no collisions? The car was not recovered with in the 30 day limit so the insurance company pays off the claim and then if later recovered the car is automatically "branded" That said, he car is in excellentcondition, ith all it's original panels and paint, here exists only a few minor chips andscratches, lus onespidercracking of the paint nearlyimpossibleto notice unless you are looking for it on the right front corner of the bumper (see pic) The only other cosmetic defect is a small crack in the plastic quarter window on the drivers side (see pic) The interior is clean and in excellent condition, ever smoked in, he car isalways garaged and never used ininclementweather. After 20 years the my friend and the builder is looking to cut down his collection of cars to a moremanageablelevel, his is the last of some 20 or so Fiero's whole or in parts, he best parts were used in this build and this is in my opinion the ultimate Fiero, ome may have built wilder or faster ones but this car has a factory build quality to it that most others do not. Simply turn the key and go knowing you have the ability to take on some prettyexoticcompetitionif youchose (Mustang, errari.Porsche, ..)
I am happy to answer any questions and can put any serious buyers in touchdirectlywith the owner Frank. I have worked for and been friends with the owner for over 30 years and wouldn't risk my 100% positive feedback reputation unless I had complete confidence in the quality and value of this car.
