NO RESERVE!!Its very rare that the perfect storm happens in the automobile industry. And as we look back at the history of the muscle car, its evolution took years to perfect. For Detroit, trying to find the right car matched to the right combination of power, style and performance and present that to the public was a hard task to accomplish. But as we look back, Pontiac always seemed to be ahead of the curve but didn't get the credit it so well deserved. By the early 60's Pontiac withdrew themselves from the NHRA and NASCAR and started to concentrate on street power and in a time where bigger always meant better, Pontiac decided to do something a little different.
In 1962 the Pontiac Grand Prix debuted as the personal luxury car. It was sleeker then the average large car and the fat was trimmed at all corners. Less chrome gave it an elegant and modern look and suddenly less became more. Pontiac realized after the Grand Prix's debutthat by tastefully holding back on large amounts of chrome was winning over the public's eye and the Grand Prix became an instant success. More importantly, Pontiac gave the buyer the ability to make this sleek new car a complete menace on the streets of America. Offering a generous selection of power plants starting with a lower powered economy 389 v8 engine to a monster 421 v8. Only a select few ordered the 421 because of its reputation of being a tire shredding beast, but of those few that did, they went all out. They checked all the boxes and ordered the 421 v8 in its most potent form with the High Output power and topped it with Pontiac's signature intake, the legendary Tri-Power(3 2 barrel carburetors). This combination of styling and power became the perfect storm in automobile history and this 1964 Pontiac Grand Prix with the H.O. 421 Tri-Power became one of the rarest (before its time) muscle cars ever produced by Pontiac in 1964.

Exterior:
The exterior of this vehicle has been restored some time ago and has been well preserved ever since. The color was changed from its original Cameo Ivory to Pontiac's Aquamarine. It was done right and documented with receipts and pictures. The body is straight and solid. There was some work done to the lower rear quarters but all of its original sheet metal is on the car. The underneath is all original and is as solid as they come. It has been well preserved through all 54 years of its life. All the glass is correct and in excellent condition and the bright work is outstanding. The optional 8 lug wheels have been refinished and are also in excellent condition. The trunk is in excellent original condition and is solid. The frame is also solid. The car would stand tall at any local show or cruise night. Please look at all the pictures and video and let me know of any questions you may have.
Interior:
The interior of this car is absolutely gorgeous and loaded with options such as a full gauge package, title power steering and AM/FM was later installed(came with AM only). Factory tilt wheelAlso it has a factory power antenna that works! The interior has been well maintained throughout the years. One of the rare upgrades are the deluxe steering wheel, try and find one in this condition. The steering wheel is in beautiful condition. The front seats were reupholstered but the door panels and headliner are original and in excellent original condition for its age. Everything works in the interior and aside from a quick detail is ready for show or go. Please look at all the pictures and video and let me know of any questions you may have.
Drive-Train:
I couldn't wait to get to this part. This is a factory, documented, all stampings correct 421 H.O. with factory Tri-Power engine. Stamping 46G.Only 267 large bodied Pontiacs came with this engine and transmission set up.....This car being 1 of them. Also this car was ordered with a Posi Trac rear. The original transmission was removed and the TH400 was installed. It was installed correctly as well and the console PRND indicator was changed to match the shifting pattern of the TH400. The original transmission does come with the car and is photoed in the pictures below. This car truly runs beautiful. It sounds excellent, it has the factory Tri Y headers. The odometer reads 27k miles as does the title. This car is road and show ready. Please watch the video to watch and listen how this car runs.
In Summation:
This is a very rare car which is being presented for sale at NO RESERVE. If you're a Pontiac guy, this would be a great addition to the collection. Or if you're a person who is looking to start into the collector hobby and are looking for the right car, you can't go wrong with this car. Low production numbers and a H.O. large 421 big block make up the perfect ingredients for a great investment.
There are 27k miles on the odometer and 27k miles on the title. There is no way of documenting if the miles are original or not. Thank you!
