This iconic Plymouth 340 "Cuda" underwent a top-quality restoration, carried out by the renowned experts at Restorations by Rob and Tim Walsh. The meticulous restoration process spanned approximately 18 months and was successfully completed in 2013. The 340 Cuda holds a special place in the Cuda lineup, prized for its nimble, well-mannered, and delightful driving characteristics.
Every detail was attended to in this comprehensive nut-and-bolt restoration, leaving no aspect untouched. The vehicle now boasts a striking B5 Blue finish that perfectly complements the new interior crafted by Curtis Jenkins.
Originally featuring a bench seat, this Cuda was thoughtfully upgraded to bucket seats during the transformation. Under the hood, a completely rebuilt 340ci engine takes center stage, although it's important to note that it's not numbers matching. To enhance its performance, the car is equipped with an aftermarket Edelbrock Six Pack setup, electronic ignition, and air conditioning, making it both powerful and comfortable.
The drivetrain includes a rebuilt 727 TorqueFlite Transmission, which feeds power to an 8 3/4" axle with 3.23:1 gears and a Sure Grip Limited Slip Differential. To ensure optimal performance and reliability, all suspension parts were carefully inspected, stripped, and powder-coated, resulting in a finish that surpasses factory standards.
This remarkable Cuda's excellence did not go unnoticed, as it was featured in Hemmings Muscle Machines Magazine in March 2015. With its stunning appearance and meticulous attention to detail, this Cuda stands as one of the finest quality builds in its class and is a testament to the expertise and dedication of its restoration team.
