1980 MG MGB Additional Info:
Selling a beautiful 1980 MG MGB in British Racing Green. This car is in excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically. It has been cared for and loved throughout its' ownership and has been owned by the same family since brand new in 1980, but was recently sold to a new owner this past summer. Lots of new parts installed in the past two years to make this car reliable, clean, fun and a joy to drive (new parts listed below). Also recently passed Massachusetts inspection.
Car fires right up. Engine sounds strong, smooth and healthy. Doesn't seem to leak any fluids or burn any oil. Steering and suspension are tight. Brakes are good. Shifts effortlessly through every gear. Has overdrive too. Clutch is in good shape.Just this past Sunday, the car was driven for over 2 hours straight and over 75 miles with no problems whatsoever. Took it on the highway and was cruising at ~65 mph. Really awesome and fun car to drive. We have had multiple MGBs in the past, but this has been the nicest one thus far.
Body is in great shape, no major rust spots or dents. Has a couple rust bubbles and a rust hole in driver side door (see pics). Undercarriage is clean with no major rust. All the floor pans and trunk pans were inspected and look great. Frame, body, floor pans, trim, all appear solid. Was repainted in the past 10 years and still looks mint. Interior is very clean and upholstery is in great shape for the year. The carpets have been replaced and are very clean. All lights and electronics work, directionals, lights, horn, wipers, radio, air vent fan, etc. All good.
In the last two years:New exhaust system (sounds great, throaty but not too loud, - there is a slight rattle, which I think it is a lose hanger or bolt)New Full Brake SystemTune up with fresh fluidsNew Plugs and WiresGas tank was drained and cleanedOlder Gas lines replacedNew Fuel FilterNew soft topNew TiresNew Carpets
