1967 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class W113 PAGODA Additional Info:
This 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SL, is a numbers matching example that was originally sold in Italy and is factory equipped with the optional ZF 5-speed manual transmission and Pagoda hardtop. The 250SL is the rarest of the W113 Pagoda variants with only 5,196 produced for 1967, only a fraction of which had the 5-speed. The car was repainted in the original color in 1999 and it looks gorgeouswith no dings or dents. The M-B data card confirms that the car retains its original engine, gearbox, and color combo.
The convertible top was originally navy blue but was replaced sometime in the past with a black canvas top, which has some minor fading but remains in good working condition with a clear rear window.
Chrome and trim is in good condition. The original steel wheels, hubcaps, and beauty rings are installed with older Yokohama whitewall tires.
The original matching hardtop comes with the car and remains in good condition.
The interior is original and remains in good cosmetic shape. The glovebox door has been replaced but the original in included in the sale.
A modern Blaupunkt stereo is hidden in the glove box with a 10 disc CD changer in the trunk and an aftermarket speaker located under the dash to the left of the steering column. A functional Becker Europa TR is installed in the dash and uses the dash speaker for audio output.
This car has the optional side facing rear jump seat installed.
The original fuel injected 2.5L runs well, with service records dating back to 1999. The clutch was replaced in 2011 along with the master and slave cylinders and the 5-speed ZF manual transmission shifts nicely. Other work includes the following:
Ignition tune up with new plugs and pointsElectric fuel pump installedTransmission mount replacedNew shifter bushingsNew speedometer cableNew starterReplaced brake pads and calipersThe car is currently in good running and driving condition.
The undercarriage is original with factory undercoating intact.
Overall this is nice Pagoda driver in a great shape and condition.
