For your consideration is a 1964 Mercedes Benz 220 SEb Cabriolet. This is an excellent driver-quality example of the model and could be enjoyed for years in its current condition or serve as a basis of a nut and bolt restoration as these cars are starting to dramatically increase in value. This particular car is finished in white with a beautiful saddle interior.
The exterior body panels are in very good and rust-free condition. The paint is complemented by chrome work that still shows very well with virtually no pitting or tarnish, with the exception of the rear bumper that has some indication of wear on the passenger side. Mechanically the car starts right up even after sitting for a while and shifts smoothly through the four-speed manual transmission. The car was fitted with a new black convertible top which still shows well with no signs of fading and when down it is hidden by a boot which matches the interior seating. As a bonus, this car comes with a fairly complete history of paperwork for the past 10-15 years detailing any mechanical work that was performed.
The interior is in excellent condition. The leather seating areas look to have been replaced at some point in time. When the top was replaced, the original headliner was retained and is in excellent original condition. The wood work is in very good condition and even has the hard to find accessory tray between the front seats. The original radio was replaced at some point in time. This particular car has a European gauge cluster so the speedometer is in KPH.
As with any car of this age, there are some indications of wear. Most notable are the effects of the rear bumper being lightly hit at some point in time, a small brush on the chrome fender surround and wear marks from the hood being closed. Most of the gauges work, though the speedometer is spotty as is the gas gauge. The mileage is unknown and stated as 99,999 due to the issues with the speedometerodometer.
